Chapter Thirty-Nine

Max awoke to the sounds of s*x, again! He put the pillow over his ears to try and dround it out. It was almost constant it felt like. Even walking around the house it was next to impossible to not walk in on Mae and a brother heavily making out. He had no clue if Ace and Mae had repaired the damage Ace caused or not.

But he hadn't seen them together in that way for a few days. He must be still In s**t with her, which honestly was well deserved. Ace had been like this his whole life. His way or the highway. It was actually funny seeing Mse put him into his place.

It was the weirdest thing seeing how Mae was good for each of his brothers. She stood upto Ace and put him in his place. She was also turning him into a more gentle guy which he had never been his entire life. He was always very affectionate towards her. Growing up Kai was always the shy and quiet one.

But because of Mae he was coming out of his shell, by becoming more talkative and funny. They had never known him to Crack so many jokes in his life before. Max really was trying to tell himself he didn't want or need her. It was hard enough before, but now that his brothers were f*****g her it was even harder. He could very clearly hear her moans, smell her arousal.

He just couldn't do that to Alyssa he loved her very much. Not like how Ace "loved" Katherine. He only liked how strong and powerful she was. And that she did what needed to be done to succeed in life. Despite how Ace acted he eventually would've moved on from Katherine.

Max wouldn't and couldn't move on from Alyssa. He imagined a life with her, kids, growing old together. To just move on from her just felt wrong. Had she found her mate It would be a different story, there's nothing he wouldn't do for her. Mae coming into the picture really didn't change anything for him, or so he thought.

His brothers kept telling him his mind would change once he kissed Mae, or even f****d her. Max wasn't as s*x crazy as his brothers were so it's not like he was rushing to f**k her anyway. It did sound like fun though, the sounds both of her brothers could get out of her. He had never heard anyone make those kinds of sounds before. Max groaned and threw the pillow off his head, clearly this was going to go on for awhile.

He threw himself out of bed and got himself dressed for the day.

" Is everything OK?" Alyssa asked peering into the bathroom rubbing her eyes.

" I'm sorry I woke you, everything is fine. Go back to sleep beautiful " he said gently giving her a kiss.

" It's the sound of s*x isn't it? They've been at it for awhile. Over an hour by this point" she told him.

" No its not I promise" he told her as he gently tapped her nose.

" I'm going back to sleep, have to work a long shift at the clinic. Becky is off this week" she told him as she went back to bed.

Alyssa was a nurse at the clinic she mostly worked with children. Just another reason Alyssa was amazing. He quietly snuck out of his room and went down to the main floor. He went out for a long walk and ended up missing breakfast. It didn't matter nobody would notice his absence anyway.

As soon as he walked into the house Mae was right there.

" Are you ok? You weren't at breakfast " she asked him looking concerned.

" Yes just went for a walk" he told her.

" OH good I was worried" she said giving him a smile.

He nodded and walked away from her.

" What did I do wrong?" he could hear her ask someone.

" Don't worry about him" came the voice of Ace.

He didn't even make it to the office when he was thrown into the wall.

" You're a prick. She was genuinely worried about you, and you just dismissed her" Ace said glaring at him.

Max rolled his eyes " You're so dramatic " he told his brother pushing him away.

" You just don't get it Max" Ace told him.

" Get what?" Max asked him.

" She cares for you, and she wants to be apart of your life. Instead you continue to shut her out all because of your pride and honour" Ace told him.

" If you didn't have Alyssa you would've been with her a long time ago" Ace told him.

" I'm not like you. I actually love Alyssa, you never truly loved Katherine " Max told him.

" So what?" Ace asked shrugging his shoulders.

" Guys knock it off" Kai spoke finally coming out of the office.

The three if them walked into the office and continued their talk.

" Why are you so scared to just admit your feelings, you can finally be happy for once" Ace spoke.

" I am happy" was all Max got out when he was cut off.

" How many times are you and Alyssa f*****g?" Ace asked him.

" I'm not answering that" Max told him rolling his eyes.

" That few huh? Imagine being with someone that actually wants you in that way" Ace told him.

" Fine three times a week" Max spoke up.

" Really that's all?" Kai asked and Max nodded.

" Remember my ex Stacy? We didn't even like each other and it was three times a day" Kai told him.

" You both know I've never been s*x obsessed like the two of you" Max told them.

" That's because you've never had good s*x, that would all change" Ace told him.

" Remember that time in high-school when that group of girls wanted to see who could give the best blowjob? And they made us the judges? We rewarded the winner by f*****g her. Oh right you were home reading a book" Ace said rolling his eyes.

" See that doesn't appeal to me now let alone then" Max told him.

" I promise you Max, everything with Mae is a thousand times better then anything you've ever experienced with anyone. Just kiss her you'll see what I'm saying" Kai told him.

" I can't ok" Max said with a sigh.

" Alyssa will understand she will be fine" Kai told him.

" It's not just her" he spoke quietly.

" I don't know where I fit, I can't give myself to her just for her to realize I'm nothing. I bring nothing interesting into her life" Max spoke.

" Max she's your mate, that makes you everything " Kai told him.

" Then tell me what makes me important to her? Ace you're the more assertive one, Kai you're the funny one. What do I have?" he asked them.

" You're literally the smartest of the three of us. You're also good with all that sappy emotional s**t" Ace told him.

" I just can't get hurt or hurt Alyssa" Max told them when he was interrupted.

" If Alyssa found her mate tomorrow she would be gone" Ace told him.

" Just seriously think about it ok?" Kai told him as Max shrugged his shoulders.

Maybe they were right and he was just over thinking things. Mae's heat was in the next few days so he would talk to her about his thoughts when she came back. If she was even willing to talk to him. He didn't treat her the best, but he also wasn't treating her the worst either.
