Chapter Twenty-One

" What's gotten into her?" Max asked his brother.

" We had a talk and it didn't go well" Kai told him.

" Talk about what?" Max asked him.

" I told her what steps she needed to take for us to consider taking her our Luna" he started when Ace cut him off.

" You i***t, she's not capable of all that training. She's weak" Ace told him.

" We haven't given her a chance" Kai told him.

" We've given her plenty of time and chances to prove herself" Ace spoke.

" How do you figure?" Max asked his brother.

" She's been living here almost two months, that's more then enough time" Ace told him.

All Max could do was roll his eyes at his older brother. It really has been fascinating seeing how his brothers treated her for two men that didn't want anything to do with her.

" So.then why don't we reject her and move on with it?" Max asked them.

They both quickly started arguing about why they can't reject her.

" Absolutely not she's our mate I'm not giving her away to another man" Ace spoke.

" She has the capability to be our Luna she really does" Kai said.

" She's not our Luna" Ace argued back.

" The problem is you don't see it" Kai told Ace.

" Enough both of you" Max told them.

" And you. What's your deal with her?" Ace asked Max.

" What do you mean?" he asked him.

" You really don't want anything to do with her?" Ace asked him and he nodded.

" That's because you haven't kissed her yet. That mate bond is powerful once you finally cave in. You really should cave in so you can fully understand our struggle" Ace told him.

" I'm not going to cave in. Unlike the two of you I'm actually serious, plus I have Alyssa" Max told his brothers.

" Just imagine what it will feel like to f**k her" Ace told Kai who grinned.

" We almost did" Kai reminded him as he glared at Max.

" Yes thank goddess I stopped it. You guys just would've f****d her until you got bored and moved on. She doesn't deserve that" Max told them.

The two of them didn't say anything. As much as Max liked Mae as a person he really didn't get the appeal to her. What made her so special that it drove his brothers to act like this? He didn't say anything as he left the room to go find Mae he wanted to talk to her. He wandered around the house looking for her, he smelled her outside and made his way to talk to her.

" Leave me alone Max" she ordered not turning around.

" I just wanted to talk to you" he told her.

She groaned and turned around to look at him " Are you here to tell me you want me to? And that I'm your Luna?" she asked him.

He shook his head no " Not at all. I'm proud of you for standing up for yourself with my brothers. They definitely take advantage of the mate bond, I was hoping you would stand up for yourself one day" he told her.

" Well someone has to stand up for me" she told him.

" I stand up for you all the time" he told her.

She laughed " Barely" she told him when he cut her off.

" I interfered when you were in heat, I'm making sure Ace doesn't physically hurt you and I'm here being proud of you" he told her.

" Well you're not good at your job. Ace has been punishing me in front of both of you. We all know its a very s****l punishment " she told him.

" I really have tried to get him to stop" Max told her.

" I don't believe that" she told him.

" What do you want then? Do you want a real punishment?" he asked her and she nodded.

" I'd much rather be whipped, at least that way there's no humiliating me. And using me like a game" she told him.

" Theres no way you're serious" he told her rolling his eyes.

" He was going to finger me during my last punishment. You know he wanted to turn me on so I'd f**k him. There's no other reason for that" she told him.

" I'll figure out a wag to deal with him I promise. That's not ok" he told her.

She rolled her eyes " So when am I getting rejected?" she asked him.

" I don't know. Neither want to let you go" he told her.

" Great" she said as she walked away.

" I'm not done talking to you" Max told her chasing after her.

" OH but I'm done. You act like just because you don't kiss me or touch me you're the perfect brother. You still allow all of this to go on" she told him.

" I can only do so much" he said.

" Do you know how many times Ace has corned me into rooms and made out with me? Then an hour later threaten to hit me? Life here doesn't make any sense. One minute I think finally they want me, the next I'm hated again. I'm just over it. Over all of you" she told him as she walked away.

Max just stared at her in confusion. Her anger was definitely misplaced he never even hugged her. It wasn't him that was f*****g with her feelings while also trying to literally f**k her. The only thing he knew for sure he would never kiss her. She did nothing for him unlike his weak brothers.
