Chapter Ten

Mae went and sat in the library, since she clearly couldn't do what she wanted without drama being involved. She figured she may as well stay inside the pack house and do nothing instead. Plus she needed to calm herself down after that interaction with Ace. She never imagined kissing could be that mind numbing.

She felt like she couldn't stand, not be able to breathe while at the same time not wanting it to end. She felt very flustered and wanted him to do all sorts of things to her. And then Ace went back to being Ace. The unbelievable asshole she knew him to be. That was going to be the last time she ever allowed anything like that to happen again.

Regardless of how he made her feel she would never let it happen again.

" Ace you f*****g i***t you're late for the meeting, what are you doing just sitting there?" Kai asked coming into the library.

Mae just turned around and raised one eyebrow at him.

" Sorry I thought you were Ace" he told her when suddenly his face changed.

" Why is his scent all over you?" he asked her.

Oh f**k she thought " No reason" she told him getting up from her chair trying to leave the room.

He grabbed onto her wrist and pulled her back " Tell me" he told her.

She shook her head " it's nothing " she told him trying to pull away.

" He hurt you didn't he?" he asked her.

" He didn't I swear" she told him.

He took a deep breath " Mae I'm only going to ask you one more time. Why is his scent on you?" he asked.

" I said it's nothing" she told him knowing what was probably coming next.

He rolled his eyes " Fine come with me while I ask him" he said dragging her upstairs.

" Kai stop please" she begged as she tried to stop him.

He ignored her and just kept taking her upstairs with him.

" Your meeting" she said trying to distract him.

" It will wait. It's already late anyway" he told her.

Kai opened his brothers door without knocking to see Katherine and Ace in the process of getting dressed.

" Knock much " Ace growled at him.

" You're late for the meeting. Secondly why is your scent all over Mae?" Kai asked his older brother.

"What did she tell you?" Ace asked as he glared at Mae.

" Nothing she won't tell me anything. So I want to hear it from you" Kai told him.

" Ace what's going on?"Katherine asked looking hurt.

Ace rolled his eyes " I was really mad at her I followed her into her room to teach her a lesson. One thing led to another and I kissed her." he said shrugging his shoulders like it wasn't a big deal.

Katherine's eyes widened " Is that what that was all about? We've never f****d like that before." she asked him.

He once again shrugged his shoulders " Don't look too much into it, you're being dramatic " he told her rolling his eyes as she left the room in tears.

Kai moved aside so Katherine could leave " So what you want her now?" he asked his brother.

Ace laughed " Not at all. It was a mistake that won't ever happen again" he told the both of them.

" Must have been some kiss for you to be f*****g Katherine right after" Kai told him.

" It was alright" he said as Mae just glared at him.

" What?" he asked her.

" Don't worry you're right. It will never happen again. by the way your kissing skills could use some serious work" she told him as she left his room.

Ace growled and went to go after her " Enough you've bothered her enough for one day" Kai told him as the two of them walked passed Mae's room and downstairs.

She watched them walk away. Ace slowly turned his head and licked his bottom lip. Just the sight of that made Mae excited all over again. She went into her room and closed the door she didn't have any energy for these stupid games.
