Dancing with Mr. Jerk Chapter 1 "Have you heard? Sir Wilson and Ma'am Avrielle broken up!" "What? Why? What happened? This year is supposed to be their wedding year, right?" "Yup. Dunno, someone said that Ma'am Avrielle cheated on Sir Wilson," "Nope! That's bullshit! I heard Sir Wilson is the one who cheated in their relationship!" I closed my eyes hard because of the annoyance I feel while hearing their gossips about my previous relationship. These people talk as if the one they are talking about isn't around! I kept on hearing them murmuring so I decided to give them a glance, that eventually made them stop. "Could you be more humane? You can talk about THAT topic whenever I'm not around, not like this. I'm just a few meters away from all of you yet you kept on talking about me." I said which made them bow their heads in embarassment. "The next thing I hear you all talking about my life inside this building, I swear, you have to find a new job that can accommodate your curiosity about the things you aren't supposed to have a say with. Understood?!" I finished using a very authoritative voice. All of them nodded simultaneously. "Yes, Ma'am Avie!" I just released a heavy breath before leaving them to go straight inside my office. I signalled my personal assistant to go back to her assigned location, and just let me in alone. After closing the door, I immediately look around my office. I walked towards my office table to immediately get rid of the picture frames in there that's showing me and my ex-fiancé whose a cheater and an as$! "You're a damn cheater! You don't deserve a place in my office, in this building, in my life, and in my heart! I swear, you'll never be happy after what you did to me, Wilson. You'll never get a life that's peaceful and wonderful. You'll forever experience pain. I swear that!" I said as I continued taking all of our pictures together. I put all of it inside the box my PA brought earlier, and then sealed it off with a tape. Then I called my PA inside. "Burn all of that." I commanded. Jericho immediately obliged. "Copied, Ma'am." He just said then take the box away. I sit down on my chair and decided to lay my back on the soft backrest of the chair while my eyes are closed. And just like a slide show, all the memories I had with Wilson showed up in my thoughts. From the first time we met inside a coffee shop, 'till we met again at the Bar which he owned, then us exchanging numbers, him calling me at night, he first asked me out on a date, when I said yes to be his girlfriend, until our first kiss, our first trip abroad, then when we got engaged two years ago, how I started planning for a wedding, and then as the ending, we separated because of him cheating on me two weeks ago. "And now, after what happened, he's already bethrothed to someone else," I said before releasing a smirk. How thick-faced jacka$$! "Ma'am Avie, someone is on the phone wanting to talk to you," Jericho said, while glancing at the semi-opened door. "Name?" Jericho shook his head. "He didn't say his name, but he said that you danced with him last night." That sentence from Jericho made me stood up from my chair in surprise. If am not mistaken… I immediately took the telephone up and placed it on my ear while signalling Jericho to leave my office. When the door is close, I then started speaking. "Have you made your decision?" I asked, sounding so calm but deep inside, my every veins is shaking! A long moment of silence from the other side welcomed me. At first I thought the call got cut-off, but when I hear breathing I realized that maybe he's making me wait for anticipation. This man is totally a jerk! No argue! "Hey! Still there?!" I spoke again because of annoyance. If he doesn't want to talk or give ma decision yet, he should've not called me! He's wasting my time for goodness' sake! "Look, if you're just playing games and trying to waste my time here, I advise you to sto—-" "I'll help you," He said that made me stop from talking. My eyes widened as a small smile formed on my lips. "What? Come again?" I heard a heavy sigh from the other line. "I said I'll help you, to revenge. But that's just it," He added. This time, a full-blown smile was trapped in my lips. I just sealed-off a deal. "Good decision, Mr. Jerk." I commented, "Well, It's a win-win for us both so I actually expected that you would say yes because this will benefit you too. I'll tell you, you'll have that woman back. While Wilson will desperately win me back too," I added. "Just make sure that I will win that woman, if not, I'll regret teaming up with you." He said before the end tone enveloped my ear. I couldn't keep my eyes from rolling after realizing that THAT JERK just dropped the call like that. He just hung up on me? "What an arrogant jerk!!!" I said using a very deep and deathly voice. "Just be thankful that I'll be needing your help, because if not, I'll beat you up until you know who are you trying to disrespect!" I said before putting down the telephone and laid down on my sit once again. I was angry because of what he did, but after remembering his answer about my plan about Wilson, my anger subsided and a triumph smirk appeared. WHERE THE HECK IS THAT JERK?! My eyes have been roaming around the coffee shop for several times already but I cannot find him, even at the corners! I've been waiting for almost how many hours already just for him! Where the heck did he go? "Sh*t! Did I just got fooled?" I was also an i***t, I should've asked for his number so that I could've contacted him! Ugh! "I'm sorry I'm late," a voice registered on my ear followed by a sound of the moving of the chair in front of me. The next thing I know, I saw that JERK's face in front of me. He's wearing a white shirt which is fitted to his body. He's also wearing a black cap, and he only have his phone placed above the table. When I look at his face, the usual, no emotion can be read at all. He is handsome, that's a given. He has a tanned skin, a mid-messy hair, a clean face, no visible pores or any pimple marks or what, and he has a very good looking nose. But, no matter how handsome he might be, the fact that he made me waited for a long time is a big deal to me. "You're late…" I started. He just nodded. Still emotionless. "I know, I already said that," "And you act as if its okay?" "I already said sorry," he responded. "And? You think that's enough?!" I hissed back. And for the first time in forever, an emotion appeared on his face. Annoyance. "And what should I do then? Beg for your understanding? For forgiveness? Should I kneel down because I'm late? I already said sorry, and I think that's overly-enough." He argued back while his brows are almost touching each other because of the annoyance he has for me. Because of his tone and how the way his facial expression changes, the creased on my forehead become much more visible. If he's irritated, then I feel the same. I can even double that! "Excuse me. I was the one who waited, do you think fighting and reasoning like that is the right way to act?" I asked, using a sharp voice, trying my best to threaten him with it. But knowing that he is a total jerk, instead of calming his expression down, his eyes narrowed even more. "That's the problem with ladies. You all want to satisfy your fantasies about men being always considerate about your feelings. Don't you think that's too much?" He said. Still glaring at me. And since I am not a fan of backing down, I glared at him back much more worst than he's doing to me. "That's why girls doesn't want you, maybe this is the reason why that woman did not choose you. You're not the ideal type of guy. You're too different from Wilson!" "And your Wilson did cheat on you. Yeah, I am totally different because I am not a cheater like your previous man," He argued back, straight and a tone of satisfaction is visible. I felt like my hands shaken because of what he said. My heart felt heavy in an instance. My goodness. Did he just slapped me with the reality? I don't think I can last teaming up with this man in front of me. I was totally wrong for asking him for help. This isn't right. With that thinking, I started picking up my things placed above the table. I'll leave him. This is the first and last time we'll meet each other. I will still get my revenge without his help. "That's it. Let's separate ways here," I said before standing up—the same time the loud sound of wind chime present at the entrance of the cafe become audible to my ear, that eventually caught my attention—and I almost gasped after seeing two familiar faces walking inside the cafe—and towards my direction! "Damn…" I reacted before looking down and goes back to my seat. I dared not to look up. I just silently wished that they would just pass me by without noticing who I was. "What? I thought you're leaving?" "I am. I just need a little bit time," I answered before trying to assess the situation by my peripheral vision. "Are you hiding? From whom?" The jerk again asked, and I noticed how he's about to turn his head on the direction of Wilson and his fiancé when I suddenly stopped him by grabbing his arm and pulled him towards me. And as the ending… We just had an accidental kiss.
