The Majarlican Demigod Chapter 18: Althea fights the spirit in the bottle The witchcraft begins. I sprayed perfume all over the mirror until I couldn't see my reflection. "Who would I write in the paper, though?" I asked Talia, who was standing by the door. "Why don't we try it on, Brighton? Prince Rupert will not be a good choice even if we're friends. We might get in trouble." She suggests. Good idea! If this works on Brighton, he's different from the celestial guardian I was looking for. "Let's try that." I voiced out. I closed my eyes and started thinking about his face. When I was focused enough, I wrote his name on the paper. Simultaneously, I put it inside the bottle, let it soak, and took out the report. For the next step, Talia burned the form. I was whispering Brighton's name to the slowly burning paper. "What How are you doing?” "Talia, you're distracting me," I said. "Huh?" she frowned at me. "This is me, Brighton! What are you doing to my body? It can't move. It's paralyzed!" "How can you... Oh wow, you're using telepathy on me now, huh?" I said. "Ally?" Talia sounded confused. "Althea, I'm telling you, DO STOP whatever you are doing," he said. I ignored Brighton's demand and focused on what we were doing. Then, the most disgusting part is eating the ashes. I gathered it in my palm and put it in my mouth. It tastes like an extremely burned, unseasoned powdered bread crust. I'm having a hard time swallowing it, so I drink water. To my surprise, I looked at myself in the mirror again and saw an unfamiliar person instead of myself. It has a creepy smile. Talia looked at me from the mirror and looked at me in person. "What is happening?" Talia asked. My stomach began to grunt. I have to sit down because of the pain. The ones in the mirror trying to get inside me, frowning as it forcefully gets in me. It's using its strength against me, so I focus on absorbing the power it's giving off. When she was done, I used it to remove her from me, so the mirror broke. Talia screamed while covering us with a fireball as the debris shattered everywhere. The green person doesn't have legs. Instead, it has the tail of a ghost. "Zephrias' daughter!" it said to me. I tremble in fear. Talia, closer to the door, dashed out of the room, screaming for help outside. "Who are you?" I mumbled. "You are the traitor goddess' daughter!" it came to and strangled me with her one hand. I was struggling above the floor, and I couldn't push it away from me. This person is too powerful. Instead of resisting its power, I tried to absorb the strength it was putting on me. As I close my eyes, I remember this memory that happened before. Everyone will see me in this situation, and they will start suspecting that I'm a demigod. That's when Artes will attack the West, hunting my mother. The person noticed that I was absorbing her power, so she threw me outside. My back hit the floor, but it didn't hurt because I had enough strength to null the force. The people are rushing to me. Someone helped me stand up, but the ghost attacked us. Once again, it holds me up in the neck, and we're outside the building this time. It flew even higher, and my palms began sweating. Rupert flew to me, trying to snatch me from the ghost. Hamilton—who once bullied me, attempted to attack the spirit, but since it's formless, he failed. Then, another flying person shot the ghost, and this time, it was a success. I was able to breathe again as Rupert held me up above. I realized that Brighton's animal form wrestles with the ghost. We flew to the ground as Brighton tried to pin down the ghost. "Althea!" Brighton screamed. I approached them and attacked the ghost by hitting it with a piece of wood. I didn't stop until I felt the strength I absorbed from it was all gone. It's knocked helplessly on the ground and then disappeared with glitter dust. I felt exhausted and dropped the piece of wood I was holding. Kori, Phrias, Talia, and even Hans were running to me when I saw the other people around the dormitory looking at me. Kori hugged me and talked but made no sound. It's slowly getting dark, and I hear a low voice saying my name. The last thing I saw was the animal form of Brighton looking at me. "Take care, little lady!" my mom bid goodbye to me, holding my baby sister as I waved goodbye to her. I was going to Salazaria's place to attend a children's party for someone's birthday. I was only 4 years old at that time. Many children were playing there in the big garden. There were ponies to ride on, and I was thrilled to ride them. I felt like someone was watching over me somewhere. I saw a little boy playing alone on the side. "Hi! I'm Ally, What is your name?" I asked. He looked at me, "I'm Brye." he handed me a toy. It is a Medicus instrument. "Don't you want to ride horses?" I asked. "The Medicus said that I am not allowed to. I fell from the horse on my birthday last year, so now I have a broken backbone." he responded. "That must hurt. Let's just play this then." I empathized. After a while, the granny called the boy, so I was left alone. My cousin Albertus wants me to join them and ride on a pony. Everyone was gone while playing out of the garden, and I didn't know how to return. I was scared and started crying because no one was passing by. Someone came to me and asked if I was lost. He was huge, and he was using his ability to make him look like an animal. He has 3 pairs of wings, from eyes on his back and feet. I was riding the pony, and he led us until I saw Albertus and Hans playing with other kids. Kori and Phrias ran to me, asking where I was. They couldn't see the person who led me back, and he flew high. I was never able to see him after that day. I was awakened by the noise around me. I saw the sleeping Rupert on my side, wearing his royal attire. I tried to look around. There were royal guards around. "Ally?" Talia called from the right side of the bed. I curled up to sit. She has bruises on her face. That must be the debris of the mirror, "Thank goodness!" she whispered. "Althea!" Rupert hugged me from the side, then let go. "How do you feel right now?" he asked, patting my head. "I'm alright, Rupert," I said, "Thank you. Where's Kori and Saphrias?" "They are conducting an investigation with the rest of the council. Do you wish to speak with the maestras?" The prince asked. "No, it's alright. Can I go back to my room now?" I asked. "They are conducting the investigation in the girls' dormitory, so you can't," he said. Hans approached me, "I know, I have acted strange lately. I'm sorry." "Well, at least you finally came to your senses again," Talia said. "There are a lot of bottles of perfume that were confiscated from Zera Foster. She's being interrogated right now." Hans added. "I need to go there," I attempted to stand up, but Rupert stopped me. "You cannot go," Rupert stopped me, "You're in danger, and I need to protect you from that person who tried to kill you. It's an order." I looked puzzled at him. "An order, Your Majesty? There's a limitation to your authority, and no one can protect me from Artes. It was Artes who tried to get me, and you can't do anything to protect me from him." I burst out. Rupert looked disheartened. "I'm sorry, Rupert. I didn't mean to say that,” I calmed down. "It's alright. You're just exhausted," Rupert said. "Brighton's body is paralyzed. Isn't it?" I asked Hans. "Brighton is doing the investigation. He wasn't there in the incident. You must be badly hurt, Ally." Hans replied. No one saw him? Brighton was there. I saw him. I stopped to think, Artes found me, and I won't be safe. He might be somewhere here, ready to attack me.
