The Majarlican Demigod Chapter One Introduction:   There were corpses all over the place... I was walking over them- looking for my younger sister. I was shouting her name. "Zephyra!" but I could hardly feel that there was a voice coming from me.   I continued walking, but my legs felt heavy.   "Althea, help me!" —That's my sister!   My whole body felt like that there was an ice bucket flushed over me. A person was holding my sister's head and his sword on her stomach...   "Ally..." was her last word before she completely slew- lying on the ground along with the other corpse. Then I quickly pushed the person. I couldn't seem to push him down because he was strong. He removed his helmet.   The person's image is vivid.   "M-m-maestro?" I muttered. "If you think you can beat me, Althea, you're wrong!" He said.   My strength was all gone. This can't be real.   "I was the one who put the idea on Kadeen to plagiarize the over-budget report so that the Chief of Youngsters Centralis will be in trouble." he's slowly taking steps towards me. "I am also the one who has given Ivy the poison to try getting rid of your sister- so that council will be in chaos. AND IT WAS ALSO ME who exposed Augustus flirting with a student of the Primiera  de Academia- so all that he knows about me will never be taught!"   I covered my ears so I couldn't hear him, "No! You're lying!" I shouted. "You're just a foreign Maestro trying to be the Chief in Centralis!" "I am not the maestro that you used to know, can't you see that?" He continued, "I just used this body to get my revenge just like I did to Kadeen, Ivy, and Augustus." He pushed me to the ground. "I am the son of Ares. I will also be the one to kill the child of the Goddess of Fatal Disease. Say goodbye to Kingdom Majarlika, Althea." he raised his sword and put it on my chest.   I see an overflowing of blood from me. I feel the time slowing down on me and the gray sky turning black from my sight. I'm grasping hard for oxygen to breathe, and the big deep cut on my body is undeniably aching that I could cry.   "Althea..." it echoes as I close my eyes.   ••>>>OChapter 1: Primiera  de Academia Centralis   "Ally!" she's still calling me. "Ally was here!" I opened my eyes. The liquid has quickly run down from both eyes. I touched it, and it's real. "Why are you crying?" My Auntie giggled. "We're here in Centralis, Ally. Fix yourself already," she said. "Yeah... Sorry. I had a bad dream. And it feels like it really happened..." I told her as I wiped off my face with a clean and soft fabric. Then I took the bottle of water and drunk till empty. "Alright," she responded. "I will leave your things in the dorm, and you go to your first class." She handed me the scroll for my school activities. "Just follow what your Maestros and Maestras told you to, and beside your free to ask your cousins." "Thank you, Aunt Natalia," I said, and they dropped me off the building where my first class is.   I headed to room number 485. It's going to be my room until I graduate. It has a green door, and it's very high. It makes me feel smaller. Primiera de Academia Centralis is basically the dream school in the whole world of Kingdom Majarlika.   Yes. I am aware that there are multiple dimensions, and ours is the Kingdom Majarlika. There are humans here, and they are mutants. They live here so that they can be normal. You know, not needing to hide their powers and being alienated because of the power they possess.   I entered the room with no one's looking at me. My classmates are busy chatting. I was looking for a vacant seat- there's one in the first row. That's not hard to find since there are only a few people here.   "Hi, is the seat taken?" I asked the girl. "No, it's not. Take the seat," The girl replied. "Thank you." Then I take a seat. "By the way, I'm Althea," I said. "Hasmin." She briefly replied. I noticed that she is drawing... It's out of charcoal-sort of a pen, but it looks alive. That might be her ability. Hasmin is a girl with straight long black hair who sits up so straight— very ladylike.   The teacher came in, "Good day, my fair lady and lad!" she's someone I know, "I'm your maestra for the subject Skills and Abilities Development."   Kori is my cousin and now my teacher. She is one of the teachers here, just like the rest of her sisters. It's peculiar when your kinsmen were also your teacher. You need to call them maestro or Maestra— not a cousin or their name alone.   "Since this is your first day," she continued, "We will not tackle too much because some of your classmates haven't arrived in Centralis yet. So, for now, let's start by introducing ourselves!"   Oh no... Not this part. I don't like this part.   "I'm going to start off. My name is Kornalina. I am the fourth daughter of the Duke of the First District of West's first son. I am a Mind-Master, and my special ability is visiting other people's dreams."   As a child, I happened to be saved from a nightmare by Kori. I can't even count how many it was.   "Alright! Next will be... Let's begin from the left, so, you.." The girl stood up and walked to the center.   She's tall, fair, wavy black hair... She looks stunning in her cyan-colored dress. There are many beautiful girls in my class. Am I shortlisted?   "I'm Ninna Adorre of the West Fourth District. I was named after my own special ability, and it's to produce pearls from my tears. When my teardrop dries, it becomes a pearl. So, they called me lovely-eyed."   This girl must've made wealth out of her tears. I can't imagine how will it be if she gets heartbroken—she'll be living like a princess. After the beautiful girl, the other guy showed us levitation, the other transformed into a wolf. And Hasmin goes through the wall like a ghost.   Then there's me. Standing in front of the class with shaky knees, "My name is Althea, daughter to the Duke of the first district of West's second son. I am the firstborn among four kids. And I love making new clothes."   My father has sent me to the capital city to learn more about controlling my 'Special' abilities. Also, he believes that if I am to study here, I will probably have the chance to be one of the rulers of our town— just like them. Standing in front of many people makes me shiver and ultimately awkward. I have never been outside of the First District before. This is the very first time, and I want to throw up.   "So... Is that your 'Special Skill'?" The skinny levitating guy asked. "I guess," and then I took the scissors from Kori's table behind us. I stabbed it on my chest.   The whole class turned gray like a corpse in surprise.             I removed the scissors and put them back on the table. No blood, of course, "I don't bleed from a stab. I can also hold a grenade. I guess it's The Ability to Nullify." I said, I really don't know what it's called.   We continued to show our abilities to one another. From our class, so far, is where the Elemental Commanders were.   Zera of Third District, a short-haired girl, can command the wind to stop from circulating, form a whirlwind and make her fly too. Randall of the Fourth District. This tan and a tall guy can control the earth. Form a mountain, shake the ground, and do other stuff that has to do with rocks, sand, and earth. Winslett of the Second District, a girl with long colorful hair and thick eyeglasses, can command the water to form by itself to whatever she pleases.   "Alright, youngsters! I'm pleased to have you in my class. So, as we all know- not everyone has these special skills we possess. And that is the reason that Premiera de Academia Centralis is here. To develop you and your skills to be useful in Kingdom Majarlika. Some of you will become Maestro and Maestra, some will be the Law Makers, some may be Kingdom Ministers or Councilors, and maybe Chief. I'm here to help you unleash the special gift you have received."   Maestra Kornalina proceeds to start with the lesson. How she executed the lecture was never different from how she's done it when we were still kids back in First District. She's five years ahead of my age. We are so close, mostly resembles in features. Many have mistaken us for sisters.   Not too long, we meet our lunch for this day as the bell rings. Kornalina reached out to me as everyone went out of our classroom.   "I'm so glad you made it here." She said with a big smile on her face holding me both hands.   I smiled widely at her, "My heart swells in joy to see you again, Kori— I mean Maestra Kornalina." She giggled, "I'm still Kori, Ally. You can still call me Kori when were alone. By the way, how's First District?" She asked. "Still the same district," I say to her. "You haven't visited since Grandmother left for Zenovi." -Zenovi is a province two hours away from our district. She cut me, "Yeah." "What happened?" I asked. "You promised that you would pay me a visit after you took your oath as a teacher. But—..." "Let's take our lunch, Ally!" Diverting our conversation to some other topic.   Voice came as the door opened, "Kornalina."             "Sister!" Kori took the woman from the door. "Ally, remember Phrias?" A woman who almost looks like the one that I can always see in the mirror. "Phrias," I said aloud and drew myself to hug her since I miss her so much. She is Kori's older sister. Slim and fair skin tone. I cannot forget her fierce stare and a walk just like a queen. Just before I reached her and nearly wrapped my arms around her, she stopped me, "Lady Althea. You are in the city now- In the school of diplomats, actually. You are about to be one of the kingdom's rulers. You shall not act childishly like someone I know. Such shame could bring to our family."   I was a little shocked about her change and felt the brashness as she made a snide remark on that someone she knew. Shameful acts disgust most human beings, and out of all the creatures, Phrias hate being shamed or being dragged into shame.   "Greet us bowing on your dress and always address us in our proper names," she said, "that is the proper greeting Althea." Change is good, but this one saddened me, "You really have grown into a woman of a diplomat, Phrias," I said. "It's Maestra Saphrias, Lady Althea." She said with fierce eyes-- an astounding glare of elegance, "Get your lunch quickly, Sister, The Chief of the youngsters has to speak with the councilors." She walked into the door, nearly to exit— she turned her back, "Welcome to the Centralis, cousin." She said as she was finally gone from my sight. "I apologize for the attitude. Saphrias is only feeling the pressure with the council," Kori explained as she walked me outside the room and saw the hall once again towards outside, we headed. "Why pressured?" I asked. "Our sister Chalcedony is quitting her position as The Chief of Youngsters. She passed the exam to be a ship developer outside Centralis." Kori responded. "Really? Chalcedony? Wow! I mean, it has always been her dream." I say. "But Chalcedony is the Youngster Chief here in the city. She's about to vacant a significant position." Kori said to me as we walked to the other side. It got me puzzled, "As 'The Youngsters' Chief'? So what's the pressure on Phrias?" "They are eyeing her to take the place of the Youngster's Chief. But what she wants is to continue studying in North. You knew that she always wanted to be a rule-maker. If she stays here, she loses that chance to become one since she believes that being one of the Chief will take a lot of time, and being a rule-maker needs full-time attention. She just can't be both." Kori said to me.   Even if Kori elaborates this thing to me, I will still not understand, "How about you, Kori? Why don't you take the position?"             She answered with a big smile, "I'm to teach. I want to make a rule-maker, not to be a rule-maker itself."   She handed me a tray where I could put anything that I was pleased with from the counter. There were sandwiches, kinds of pasta, salads, and sweets on the other side of the table.   "Excuse me, Maestra Kornalina, the discussion is about to start in the Councilors' room." A tall skinny guy asked— he was in my class earlier. "Thank you, Hamilton. I am going forth then." Kori said to Hamilton, and Hamilton went his way. "See you in the class." She said and went back to the building.   A crowded room of strangers. I'm never sure whether I belong here or if anyone like me feels the same way. Aristocrats, elites, diplomats, all dressed up, ready for socializing. Bragging all the gathered knowledge, not to mention their new imported clothes.   A young man of my age appeared in front of me, showing me a blank paper with blue-thin lines with a feather pen, "Excuse me, may I have your name signed up here?"    I was surprised for a second, then took the pen. I'm just ready to sign up, "What is this for?" I asked. "We need the name of all the people in our class. We are going to pass this to the ministers." He responded. "I see," I said, and I wrote my name in the very first number. "Althea of West's first district." He read what I wrote. This person looks very familiar to me, not that we're in the same class, but I think I have known him. "This is yours," handing the pen to him, so he takes it. "Thank you, Mr.—?" "Brighton Luke of West's first district." He gave me a starry glare as he walked backward. That's weird more than flirt. A guy loudly whispered from my back, "The first honorary in Premiera De Academia Centralis last year. An outstanding student with the consistent gold star during his Minor years." "The shape-shifting hypnotizer. I have never seen a person changed his face into different animals and control someone else's motion at the same time." I faced him. "And that shapeshifter is also my cousin. Firstborn of the Salazaria's military general. Good day, Lady Althea!"   This guy is from my class. I'm glad he remembers my name, but I don't recall his name.   "You're the sonic guy if I'm not mistaken?" I asked. "Yes. You're from the first district, right? We used to play when we were kids! You're not allowed, though, 'Lady of West should not be playing with horses and laden!' You're cousin Saphrias said when she caught us racing in the forest." He responded. I can recall that time. I'm playing with my cousin Albertus and his playmates. So, this guy is one of those kids, huh? "Sir," I say, "I can barely remember those times I play with young lads, and I cannot recognize your face." He giggled and handed over his hands to mine, "Hermenigildus Hans of Zenovi," and he shook my hand and let go. Hermenigildus Hans. Suddenly, an invisible bulb popped above my head — I do remember now! "Hans," I called him. "You remember now?" He asked. "Yes," I smiled, "I apologize for not remembering. It's been a very long time." "It is fine." Hans looked at my plate, "and ah, your food might have grown cold. You shall take your lunch." "Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I'm such a short-termed memory person!" then I started with my lunch. "For sure, you are going to be one of the rule-makers here, Lady Althea. Your cousins were known for that." Hans stated as he sat beside me while drinking some sort of a molten drink. "I am least interested in that. And by the way, Ally is a lot more preferable than Lady Althea. That's too bland." I pleaded. Hans smiled, "Alright then, Ally."   People dispersed from the cafeteria table gradually as the echo of the ringing bell for another subject hovered the entire campus. On our way back, we saw another beautiful girl entering the room.   "Is she in our class earlier?" I whispered to Hans. "I don't think I saw her." "She was there for the attendance, but she went outside in the middle of the discussion," Hans answered. "That's not a lady's doing. That's cutting classes. Maestra Saphrias will be very mad at me if I will be notorious for such doing." I said. "You're right. That's the lady from the Fourth District of West, Lady Heavenly. She can heal wounds with her tears." He added. "And... You know, Lady Heavenly isn't as ladylike as her cousin Lady Hasmin. But even so, she has many admirers compared to the other popular girls with pleasant attendance."   Heavenly, I can say that she has a very heaven-like face. She's fair, tall, and sparkly eyes— I see it from afar. Who would not be attracted to a girl who glows like a light under the sunlight?   Then, we found ourselves in Saphrias's class until the end of the day. It was such a pain in the a*s, sitting in the course you don't really prefer. I don't understand law anyway. Staring at Phrias, unlike Kori in the earlier class, I cannot see the old her like how she taught me how to read in my childhood. She is steadfast, strict, and doesn't even throw a joke somehow. This is not the Phrias I'm used to. Perhaps, the title Maestra made her different.   The time is through, so she left us with a short activity for homework. With only thirteen people in this class, the classroom was easy to empty. It's only the first day of school, so the tasks aren't that much. A load of duties will be for tomorrow's schedule, and I'm glad since I have to organize my things in my room. I was not sauntering to get to the dorm since it felt like I would walk for a three-fourths kilometer to be home. By the way, the surrounding is very green and feels breezy by four in the afternoon.   As I finally reached the second floor where my room was situated, I saw a petite red-headed girl collecting cluttered garments on the floor. I approached her. I thought she needed help, then I started picking up clothes and handed them to her.   "Thank...—"   We both stopped.   "Ally!" she hugged me. "Gracious goodness, Talia!" I hugged her back. "I thought you're studying Overseas?" "I secretly enrolled here. My parents don't know where I really am. I was sent to the port for departure. That's why I missed today's class." "You deceived your parents." I frowned at her. "Well, I would rather lie than die in a land that I do not know. Are you not happy that your best friend is studying in the same school?"... Ok, drama queen. "Of course, I'm happy!" I said. "But, promise me you'll tell them about this soon." "I'll tell them don't worry. And besides, I can't go to a normal school when everything I touch burns." Talia said. We've been neighbors for years back in the First District. "By the way, which class are you in?" I asked. "It's gonna be with Ms. Kornalina in room 485... Isn't Kornalina your cousin?" "Yes, she is. So that means we'll be in the same class," I said. "No way..." "Yes, way!"   And we jumped in excitement.             "Well, let's start unpacking luggage. Dinner will be in two hours." She said. "Yeah... Alright. See you." then I go to my room.   This room is almost the same that I have in the First District. Except that I- and my younger sister share with it. There's a single bed on the right side of the closet facing it. And the vanity space against the wall with a study table beside it. There's also a faux balcony and toilet space. No shower area. I opened my luggage and started pulling out the clothes, and put them in the closet. The room is already cleaned up, so I really do not have to bother dusting up.   I sat in front of the vanity space where there's a mirror, so I could get ready again for going outside. I'm brushing mine quietly below the shoulder brown hair. Then I remembered how I lied earlier in our class. I told mentioned that I didn't know what to call my skill. I'm neither sure if anyone else told everyone a big lie.   Just like Zera, I can also fly. Control earth with a hand like Randall. Walk above the water like Winslett. I don't burn in a fire too. But unlike them- I'm not an Elemental Commander. But no one should ever know about this secret, or my life will be ruined.   (To Be Continued)
