The Majarlican Demigod
Chapter 26: Escaped through the quantum space
The fishnet has been removed.
"Althea!" my father called me.
My senses were awakened. My father is carrying Zephyra in his arms like a little girl.
I searched for Talia and saw her five feet apart from my left, still asleep. I got up and tried to wake her up.
"Why are you here?" Father asked.
"Zephyra followed you, so we went after her," I responded.
Talia wakes up and gets herself together.
"Where are the Holsters?" she asked.
"They escaped," I told her as I dust myself off.
"Counselor Ivan is a dangerous man, and I know that he will not let this slide that a West almost killed her daughter. We have to be wise about this. It will be best for you to return to the academy," Father advised.
"And Zephyra?" I asked.
"Zephyra will study in Centralia after the break." He said, walking us to the carriage.
Father continues discussing our next move while we are in the carriage. He decided to send my siblings to Aunt Natalia's manor. It's not that Wests are suddenly cowering towards a commoner. Still, it's nothing like aristocracy that can save us from Artes- a formless demigod. Zephyra was a dauntless demigod, but what are the odds fighting the Holsters, who are hand in hand with Artes?
After half an hour, we reached home. Talia and I took our things to our rooms and then went back to the carriage. We just went out without bidding goodbye, as a father wanted us to go out as soon as possible.
Back in the carriage, the servants arranged the seat as a bed so we could fall asleep because the travel would be a bit long since it was nighttime.
"Are the Wests demigods?" Talia straightforwardly asked.
I was not ready for that question.
"My sisters and I are. The rest of our family were normal Majarlicans." I responded.
Talia's face was confused. "A demigod can only be formed if he is an offspring of a goddess and a celestial guardian. I grew up with you; every day, my father goes with your father. I interacted with your mother a few times before she left, so this is not possible. It could be that you have hurt your head."
"My mother is the goddess of fatal diseases, and my father is a celestial guardian. My mother, the cause of the famine, possessed the dying body of a girl and met my father. The two fell in love so bad that my father left his celestial guardian position. Father took the dying body of Socrathetius West; however, he has forgotten all about his real self. Somehow, Mother was able to win him back, and they have us. Mother's immortality is preventing her from living among us. If she does not leave, she won't be able to protect us from Artes. Besides, everyone hates her for being one of Artes' allies before." I said.
Talia looked at me with sad eyes again.
"That must be very hard, Ally," she said, giving me a tight hug.
I pat her head. "I'm fine. You know that."
"But if you're a demigod, we have the chance of ceasing Artes!" she said.
The optimism on her face suits her best. I wake up with the sun almost rising in the mid-blue sky. I sit down and look around. We are almost in Centralia. I wake Talia up so she can fix herself.
When we arrived, we were just in time for breakfast. It's only been days, but we were away for a month. The servants put our stuff in my room so Talia and I could eat breakfast.
The Pandoras welcomed us to our favorite table. The hall was filled with greetings of 'Long Time No See' and 'How are yous'? Rupert then came with his brother and the others. I don't feel like talking too much. I feel awkward today.
"Aren't Holsters supposed to be with us today?" Zera asked.
I almost choke myself from gulping in the glass of water.
"The Holsters cannot make it to school in the following days, according to Councilor Ivan. His kids got flu and must stay with their grannies." Brighton responded.
"That's too bad." Hans said, "On the other hand, they are distant from the rest of us, so... it's just bad for them."
"Or not," Talia said. I hold her other hand under the table to warn her from spilling it out.
"They don't need this training," she snidely "says. Their father is one of the powerful counselors. They need no training."
"The younger Holster has not unleashed her powers yet," Raphaelli commented. "She badly needs this."
"I don't know, but I think I heard that Idina is the mysterious songstress, and she was captured by the unknown elemental fairy," Prince Roux responds.
I kept my mouth and continued eating whatever was on my plate.
"That rumor must have been based on a solid fact." Talia shaded on with one brow raised.
"Do you know something that we don't, Talia?" Hans asked jokingly.
"Maybe," Talia answered fast.
I dropped my spoon and fork, acting shocked, and stood up.
"Excuse me." I looked at them, then at Talia. I've got to go to the infirmary," I said, turning my feet. I closed my eyes and thought of the nurse's station. I knew I was lying about going there, but when I opened my eyes again, I was not standing in the same spot.
"Lady Althea, can I help you with something?" the nurse asks in front of me.
The nurse is standing right at the medicine counter in front of me.
How did I? How'd I have gotten here?
"Are you alright?" the nurse asked.
"How did I get here?" I mumbled.
"You just showed up, young lady. You teleported," she responded. "You're a Kinesthetic, aren't you?"
"Yeah. I am," I hesitantly responded, "Excuse me, I need to go to the washroom."
I slowly walk to the exit. It's bizarre. It was the very first time I was able to teleport. I didn't see the quantum space Hasmin, and I had gone through when she took me.
Wait.
If I could only do it now, does that mean I subliminally absorbed Hasmin's power of teleportation? That's the only thing I can think of. This is fascinating!
I reached the stairs to our dormitory but went straight to the picnic grove instead of proceeding to my room. It's still time for the training, but I want to get there earlier than everyone.
"Ally!" Rupert appeared from above. I bet he flies around the campus. "It's nice to see you again."
"Yeah... Nice to see you, too. I mean, again. How have you been." I asked.
He hid his wings and stepped on the ground, "Good, I guess. I saw you disappeared earlier the way you did last night."
"Last night was really crazy," I said.
"That's unexpected. I had envisioned people just having fun and not trying to stop a big explosion. It's good that Brighton found out about it, and I thank everyone who helped." he paused. But you owe me something."
"What could I possibly owe to the crown prince?" I don't get what he meant.
"You owe me a dance," he answered.
We both paused and then a moment of awkward silence stood between us. I started laughing it off, and then Saphrias called upon us. She's with Kori and maestro Florentius.
"Good thing you're early," Saphrias said. "Let's wait for the others."
We take our seats right on the bench.
"Hey, Al," Kori came to me. "Can I talk to you for a while?" she said.
"Of course." I stood up.
She walks me to the bleachers stairwell.
"I heard about Zephyra. She's at our house with your other siblings today. I see that she possesses great power, and I believe that she can use it for many things." Kori said. "But she needs guidance on properly using it because if not, she might be in great danger."
I know what Kori means, but it's also possible that she said that she knew what happened at the boundary.
"I am trying to guide her, Kori, but you know how hard-headed she is. She's gonna do what she thinks she should do." I responded.
"I know you were, Ally, and I want to help. We will be guiding her together," she said.
"Thanks, Kori," I said.
She pats my head, "You have such bags on your shoulder."
The rest of the class arrived, and we started with our training.
