The Majarlican Demigod
Chapter 34: The Cursed Side of The History
I've lost sight and strength at that moment when I struck the eye of the storm. When I woke up, I saw Vice Chief lying asleep on the bed on my right, and Heavenly stood between us. It's already dawn.
"Where is Zephyra?" I asked with a strained voice.
"She's in the tent with Talia. They're both ok," Heavenly answered.
I felt relieved, and my exhaustion was gone. "You healed me, didn't you?" I smiled at Heavenly as I tried to sit down.
She helped me sit down, "I did."
"Thank you. I owe you lots on that," I chuckled. Wait," I switched subjects. "Why is Vice Chief here, and where's Maestra Saphrias and Maestra Kori?"
"They'll be here in a minute," Heavenly answered.
Everyone else looked exhausted and was lying everywhere. Those who didn't have to fly, like Heavenly herself, were cleaning up the grove. After a short while, Kori and Saphrias came back with a tiny bottle. Kori had the Vice Chief drink up the liquid while asleep. When the bottle was emptied, the Vice Chief was finally awakened. He sat up right away.
"Thanks, Kori, Phrias," Vice Chief said, "An angry Ally is crazy strong, huh?" He chuckled.
Hold on.
"You're the storm I fought?" I confirm.
Vice Chief smiled at me, "Indeed!" He gave me a high five, to which I responded with confusion.
"Everybody's tired. The youngsters should give it a rest now." Saphrias announced.
Saphrias used her power to transport everyone to their tents to rest. Heavenly and I went to the dining hall to get some coffee, although she took orange juice.
"Weren't you tired?" I asked, "You did a lot of healing today."
"It's my first time healing a lot of people. It was the first I ever felt useful in this training. Unlike you, my physical strength isn't enough to take down anyone. I'm actually wondering why I was chosen." Heavenly took another sip from her glass.
"Being physically strong isn't everything. You need to be mentally stable and emotionally rational all the time. It's hard to do, but you could do it," I said.
Heavenly chuckles, "Thanks for the kind words."
That rustling leaf resounds inside the dining hall as we both go silent. Maybe we need to learn more about each other, so we quickly run out of topics.
"I have a confession to make, Ally," Heavenly revealed, "I agreed to the engagement with the prince because I want to help my father. It's not like I see the prince as someone special, but the King offered me a great deal."
I almost choke on my hot coffee, "Heavenly, why are you telling me this?" I whispered to her, "That prince and I were just friends."
"But everyone knows he likes you, though," Heavenly blushed.
"Ah... Well..." I begin to stammer, "Even so, it would not mean that you have to check on me. We're just a couple of friends, to begin with," and I have to spell it out to her.
"Kingdom Majarlika has a lot of dark secrets, Ally," she looks my way, "I thought that I could release everyone from the lies. The empire said they needed me to continue the legacy, so I had to marry the prince. They are using the prince and me as their sacrifice to dark gods, and the heavens are turning their back on the Majarlicans. You're strong, and I feel you're someone we are waiting for."
That got me perplexed, "What d'ye—"
Heavenly took out a book straight from her chest, and it glowed. She put it on the table and grabbed my hand, "Do you want to know how all this trouble started, Ally?"
I'm scared and astounded about how that book was hidden inside Heavenly's body. Out of curiosity, I nodded.
"I'll show you then…." Heavenly took my hand and placed it on the book.
The book glows, and I feel I am being sucked inside until I see the past, like watching a theatre act.
•••>>>0[Flashback: Heavenly's Narration]
Once upon a time, before a dimension called the Universe existed, there existed the Kingdom Majarlika. Unlike the place called Universe, Kingdom Majarlika doesn't have any other planet. We have a sun that indicates that it's day and a moon that says it's night and we should rest. Animals like the ones on Earth also exist in this Majarlika. Majarlicans are creatures that look like humans with abilities like those of the gods from Olympus.
It looks like Earth in its physical form, and the people here look like humans. The only difference is that they have supernatural abilities or powers.
Kingdom Majarlika has five nations governed by one King, which makes it an empire. The one appointed by the gods will always surpass the powers of any powerful Majarlican.
The largest continent is Centralis, as large as the other four continents. It is known to be 'The home of gods' because of its rich lands and good weather all year round. It is where the emperor lives, and it is the heart of everything.
Next to Centralis is Dytika, which is in the west. Centralis has a connecting bridge to this place as it is the nearest to the first district of it. This has 7 districts.
On the east of Centralis is Azuma, which is as glorious as Centralis with a modern-human world likeness because the first duke of this nation is a mutant who was able to travel back and forth between Earth and Centralis. Theories say he is the god of dimensions. The founder of Azuma built the nation with technologies from Planet Earth. It is geographically far from Centralis compared to Dytika, so a bridge will not be possible to connect the 2.
Going upward is called Sevres. The temperature in this place is as cold as the tip of Olympus Mons, and few people live there. The Kingdom Majarlika government decides not to assign anyone to this land as it is impossible to live a normal life there, even for Majarlicans with the power of the ice.
Last but definitely not the least is Ramiros. Divided into two cities, which is Ras, the part of Ramiros. Ras has an archipelago with 107 beautiful islands. Seven of its islands are submerged every 15 days in the human calendar. It is considered a province as there were fewer residents. Every 30th day of the month in the human calendar, their islands merge like a puzzle. They will separate in 3 hours and return precisely where it is located initially, which is why it is called the 'playground of the enchantress". The other city is the underwater one, which is Jisma. Most of the people who lived here were element commanders. Amongst the continents in Kingdom Majarlika, Ramiros is the most magical place, as the creatures among Majarlicans can be called mystical. Unicorns, mermaids, fairies, elves, and dwarves are only a few. This place needs no technology or wealth as the elements keep you alive, and they only eat what grows with a leaf or different kinds of leaves on the land and under the sea.
Before, Majarlika was a meeting place for the gods from Olympus, humans, celestial beings, and powered creatures to meet and be friends until it was ruined. Humans became greedy and wanted to acquire the power of the gods, which made the Olympians feel bad and resent humans. In between, they were the Majarlicans. One day, Artes, son of Ares, the god of war, appeared and wanted to rule the Kingdom of Majarlika.
Due to the commotion created by Artes to Kingdom Majarlika, the Majarlicans went against Olympus in alliance with the celestial guardians. The war lasted a year, and Kingdom Majarlika almost vanished in the multiverse. Still, the god of the sky protected the Majarlicans and swore he would not let Artes rule the kingdom. The god of the sky managed to get Artes's father to take the wicked demigod down in the underworld.
But,
The underworld's god asked for sacrifice from Majarlicans, who were the crowned princes' souls. At that time, the King desperately wanted the war to cease, so he sacrificed himself and the generations of crowned princes born into the royal family. The crowned prince must have an heir before being offered so the tradition won't be cut off. Also, if he leaves no heir, the crown prince will be sacrificed on his eighteenth birthday. The royal family will select from the nearest descendant.
