The Majarlican Demigod Chapter 16: What should you conceal? As Imman evacuated the court, the lullaby sound left the court in split seconds. We have the same expression on our faces, and I think everyone has the same thought as mine. We waited for the rest to wake up, and the higher court decided to continue the session at another time.   When the higher officials were out, Saphrias called us to gather in the center of the court.   "What happened?" Saphrias asked. "I was not able to move the moment I heard the sound. Has anyone saw who it was?" "None, Chief, but there's a suspicious person entered— multiple Imman Holster," Randall answered. "The Holsters were acting strange. they must be observed, Chief." Hasmin added. "I agree with you guys. They should be observed. How many of you saw him?" Phrias asked. The twelve of us raised our hands.                                               "Everyone, please watch over each other. We will be entering a battle." The new Chief commanded. "I suggest for us to have a Skill training for you guys. We don't know when it will attack us again." Kori said.   The meeting was adjourned in short time, then Kori and Phrias let Talia and me to stay with them since our rooms are still under investigation. At Kori’s place there’s a big bed, so Talia and I shared it with her while Phrias stayed in her single bed. While I was trying to sleep, I heard them talking.   Phrias: Things are getting worse Kori. We don't know who is on our side and who's not. Kori: Sister, why don't we create a core of the TNGY? Phrias: A core? Kori: If there's a core, it will be easier for us to move. My students have excellent skills. They can help us rebuild TNGY that was forgotten by this nation, and they can help us in terms of investigating because they are all intelligent. Phrias: I'll pick the set of frontliners and back-ups. Kori: Why do you have to divide them? You can designate them to different assignments. Phrias: Is there a problem with what I just said? Kori: Not really, sister. It just sounds odd. I guess we'll need to rest for now and discuss it tomorrow.   •>>>O>>O>>OHans: Sometimes, Phrias can be really scary! Me: Tell me about it. Rupert: By the way, Ally and Talia, you can go back to your dorm rooms tonight. It has been completely repaired. Talia: Thank goodness! Rupert: And later, I will give you an official royal invitation. Hans: For what occasion? Rupert: You’ll know it later.   When the classes were over, Talia and I went back to our dorm rooms to change clothes. The room feels different this time. I hope they didn't really go over my things. I am almost done when somebody knocks on the door.   Rupert is standing in the doorway holding a scroll with a golden bow, staring at me, "Hey!" He handed out the invitation, and I took it, "Here's your invitation to Mother's birthday." "Thank you," I said. "Ally, I hope I'm not overdoing anything for you because I don't want you to feel awkward about it," he said. "Well, I actually appreciate it a lot. I felt so lucky that I'm friends with the Crown Prince, but yes, you're kind of overdoing it." I replied. "I see. I respect your wish, but I can't promise because that's just how I care about my friends. It's the first time I ever had real friends, Ally." he said. "I understand." I nodded, "Thanks for this again." Rupert responded, "No problem. I'll go ahead." he went, so I closed the door.   I placed the scroll to where I could easily see it. Then, someone knocked again- thinking it would be Rupert, but it's not.   "We need to talk, cousin." Saphrias pay me a visit for the first time. I let her in and offered her a seat, "I'm truly alarmed with you, Althea. You're becoming like your mother," she said as she sat on the study chair.   I was honestly in shock when she said that.   "What do you mean, Maestra?" I asked her. "It will be politically beneficial for our family that you and the Crown Prince are having mutual romantic feelings. And at the same time, I would highly suggest for you to stop that connection between the two of you and just be good allies," she responded. I have to straighten this up, "Phrias, cousin, we're not doing anything wrong. We're only friends." "But it's not how I see it, young lady. Neither other people in this school. You and the prince have silent communication that only you two understand." she stands up and walks to the faux balcony. "I was once a teenager, and I know how that works. Althea, the crown prince, is subject to follow monarchial matrimony, and soon enough, he will marry the girl that the emperor picked for him."   That's too advance to think of. Saphrias is getting ahead of herself again like an analytical overthinker.   My voice almost cracked in jitters, "And what are you trying to say, cousin?" "Do not like be your hard-headed father, he was already warned by a grandpa about marrying a girl he just met. Look what happened!" she's mad at my mom, "If you decide to go with the Crown Prince, you will end up being a concubine and never a queen. You are more than just a Lady of the West Althea. You were chosen among all the grandkids of Duke West to be the next Duchess. For sure, they will betroth you to someone not yet betrothed. To be the Crown Prince's love of life might be really deceiving, but don't fall for it, my cousin." she sounded so sincere, and yet I'm doubtful of it. That stings like a dagger, and hurts a lot, "You're talking about the romance that don’t exist, but I appreciate the warning," She walked to me and pat my shoulder, "This is for your own good, Ally. You can't be just another woman of a king-to-be." She then left me standing there.   I looked at myself in the mirror and felt like all the happiness in the world left me. All my make-believes were gone.   "Ally!" Talia entered the room. I take a deep breath before I face her. "Shall we go?" I asked as if nothing happened. "Yep! Let's go," she responded.   I was the last one to leave my room to lock it.     (To be continued)
