LINDA'S TRAINING Earlier that day, Linda had woken up to the brilliance of a bright morning, she looked around but couldn't find jackson. she called the maid, "Good morning, my lady," she smiled. "Morning, have you seen Jackson this morning?" She said with a worried look. "Yes my lady he left for the king chamber he told me not to wake you up " she informed. "Okay, get me a cup of wine first," Linda requested, needing a moment to collect her thoughts. As she left to fetch the wine, Linda rose from the bed and made her way to the restroom to freshen up. Thoughts of the day's agenda filled her mind, including the fact that Jackson would be taking on the role of the palace guard commander. After a while, the maid returned with the wine. She took it, savoring the taste as she contemplated the events that lay ahead. The urgency of Jackson's new role prompted her to hasten her preparations. In a flurry of activity, she dressed in a dramatic fashion, ready to face the day with a sense of purpose and anticipation. She noticed that her mother's sickness was getting worse. Concerned, she rushed to check on her. King Robert, a formidable warrior, general, and werewolf alpha, had led his kingdom to victory in many wars. Despite being a werewolf, he had chosen Linda's mother, a human, as his life partner after marriage to Thomas's mother , Luna, a great Werewolf. Thomas's mother disliked Linda and her mother. Linda always did everything in her power not to cross paths with her. Linda's mother's acceptance into the werewolf family was a testament to the strength of their bond. However, her mother had been sick for months. The challenge is the refusal to drink werewolf blood. She adamantly expressed her desire not to, wishing to set an example for her kingdom. Her stance arose from a deep-seated belief in unity between werewolves and humans. She felt that if her entire household turned into werewolves, it would be perceived as a demonstration of human dominance over humanity. Entering her mother's chamber, she found her mother receiving treatment. As soon as her noticed her, she instructed her maid to leave. "Good morning, mother," she greeted. "Morning, my sweetheart," she replied, her weak smile not concealing the pain. Linda expressed her concern about her worsening condition. "It's not that bad. I was unable to sleep last night, so I feel weak this morning," she explained, trying to reassure Linda. Switching the topic, she inquired about life in the palace. "Fine, mother. And guess what? I've decided to start combat training today," Linda announced, attempting to bring a smile to her mother's face. Linda's mother, was once a warrior who fought alongside her father in numerous battles, looked at her and smiled. "That's good of you. So, who is your teacher?" she asked. "I haven't chosen a teacher yet, but I was thinking of Jackson," Linda replied. "Jackson is a good choice. You can learn a lot from him, but combat is not easy. You have to brace yourself," she advised. "Okay, ma," Linda acknowledged. “Linda when are you getting married” she said looking at her with concern “You are getting older” she said “I will it's just a matter of time” she said thinking of a way to excuse herself because she knew what her mother was driving at. "Let me excuse you so you can receive more treatment. I'll see you later," Linda said, standing up and bowing to her. "Okay, my girl," she replied, and as Linda left her room. After ensuring the doctor would give her mother the best treatment, she inquired about her father's whereabouts. Learning he was in a council meeting, she decided to check on Jackson. Observing the way she looked at him, he acknowledged her presence. "Good morning, my lady," he greeted. "Morning," she replied. "Thanks for yesterday. I am so grateful," Jackson expressed. "It's nothing, but you can pay the kindness back," she said, walking in. "How?" He inquired. "I want you to teach me how to fight," she requested. As she charged towards Jackson with a sword, he considered how to respond. She attacked, and he found himself effortlessly defending against her every move, skillfully dodging without launching a counter-attack. Despite her determination, it was apparent she was a novice. A chuckle escaped him involuntarily, prompting her to question his amusement. "Are you using me to laugh?" she inquired. "No, my lady," he replied sincerely. Observing her efforts, he realized she was genuinely putting in her best, but her lack of fighting knowledge was evident. Determined to help her improve, he decided to demonstrate. With a sudden burst of werewolf strength, she unleashed a powerful attack, yet it still wasn't enough to match Jackson's skills. She exerted her full force in an attempt to strike him, but he effortlessly shifted from the spot. Anticipating her impending fall, he swiftly pulled her towards him, preventing her from hitting the ground. They found ourselves in a close embrace, her body against his chest. She remained in his embrace, gazing into his eyes as she lay on top of him . A playful smile adorned her face as she balanced herself and pointed the sword at his neck. "So, tell me, who won?" she inquired, still smiling. As a soldier, Jackson replied, "It's not over until it's over." Suddenly, he turned her around, flipping the situation. Now, she was lying down, and he was on top, holding the sword and pointing it towards her. "You should never relax unless your enemy is dead," he advised, forgetting that he was still in a position that could be perceived as intimate. "Wow, this looks romantic," she remarked, commenting on their unexpected arrangement. Feeling the need to maintain boundaries, Jackson swiftly stood up, creating distance between them. Despite her beauty, he reminded himself that Linda was the king's daughter, and he couldn't jeopardize his relationship with King Robert. Just as the atmosphere held a lingering tension, Thomas walked in, sensing the shift in dynamics. "Good morning, Your Highness," Jackson greeted Thomas. "Brother, you're here," Linda remarked. "I'm here to train," he declared, eyeing Jackson and assessing the room's atmosphere. "Brother, what about training with Jackson, my new combat teacher?" Linda suggested. Jackson was taken aback; he hadn't yet accepted her as his student, and he hadn't informed the king about her proposal. Thomas looked at him, challenging the notion. "They say you're a great warrior, but this is not war. Let's see how good you are in normal combat. If you win, I will allow you to continue as my sister's teacher," he challenged. Thomas walked over to where real swords were kept. Jackson wondered why he was opting for real swords in what was assumed to be a practice match. Jackson’s contemplation was cut short as Thomas charged towards him with determination. Reacting quickly, Jackson dodged his initial attack and sprinted towards the swords to arm myself, realizing that this was turning into a more intense and unexpected challenge than he had anticipated. The clash between Thomas and Jackson unfolded like a dance of steel, each move calculated, every step intentional. The room echoed with the sound of metal meeting metal. “Is that the best you can do” Thomas said smiling The clash of their swords created a rhythm that intensified the atmosphere. Thomas, fueled by determination, pressed his attacks relentlessly. His strikes were swift, and his footwork was precise. Jackson in turn, relied on his experience and agility, evading his blows and countering with strategic moves. As the combat unfolded, Linda watched with anticipation, her eyes reflecting a mixture of excitement and concern. The air was thick with the tension of the battle, both Thomas and Jackson pushing themselves to prove their prowess in the realm of combat. In a surprising turn, Jackson managed to outmaneuver Thomas, swiftly disarming him and leaving him defenseless. The realization dawned on everyone present that the outcome favored Jackson. Linda's eyes widened with amazement as Jackson stood victorious, a testament to the skills honed through battles past. The intensity of the combat subsided, replaced by a moment of realization. The room fell silent as Thomas acknowledged the defeat. Thomas stared at Jackson for a while, absorbing the reality of his first defeat in combat. Without uttering a word, he turned and left, his departure marked by the weight of an unfamiliar defeat. "Wow, you tried! No one has ever defeated my brother in combat in the palace," Linda exclaimed. She rushed towards Jackson, embracing him tightly. Her eyes met his, and in a surprising turn of events, she kissed him, the unexpectedness of the moment lingering in the air, then the door opened. Shocked by Linda's unexpected gesture, Jackson took a step backward. The atmosphere buzzed with an unspoken tension when the door swung open. To his relief, it was one of the guards who came to delivered a message. "The king wants to see you; your attention is needed," the guard informed Jackson. Jackson bowed and offered a quick farewell to Linda before following the guard.
