SLOANE’S POV
The moment I stepped into Silver Crescent territory, something in me settled.
The tension I hadn’t even realized I was carrying began to loosen, my shoulders relaxing slightly as the familiar scent of home wrapped around me.
Scarlett stirred softly. “Back where we belong.”
“Yes,” I murmured under my breath, but I didn’t stop walking. Because there was only one place I needed to be.
“Toby?”
My voice came out softer than I expected as I pushed open the door.
For a second, there was nothing.
“Mummy!”
The small voice hit me like a wave.Before I could even react, he was already running toward me, his tiny arms wrapping tightly around my waist.
I froze, then I dropped to my knees and pulled him into my arms. Tightly.
