It took all the strength in her not to fall.
Zoe raised her head and frowned slightly. "Do I know you? Why do you look like you’ve seen a ghost?"
Becky looked from Alicia to Zoe, unsure of what was going on. Alicia forced a weak smile.
"Not really," she said quickly. "Lucas told me you were dead, that’s all. It’s just... surprising. I should go now."
She turned around fast and rushed outside like she couldn’t breathe anymore. Her heart was pounding as she opened her car door and jumped in. Her hands were shaking badly. She placed both on the steering wheel, breathing heavily.
