It took every last bit of strength for Alicia to reach her car. She sat behind the wheel, her breath uneven, and stared at the paper in her trembling hands. “Positive,” she whispered. Her voice shook. “But… how is that even possible?” Her grip on the paper tightened. “How on earth did this happen? Did Mum and Dad know… before they died?” Her head fell forward until her forehead rested on the steering wheel. She shut her eyes tight, trying to block out the storm of thoughts.
