“What are you saying?” Becky asked, her voice was almost breaking. “The day you had that miscarriage... it affected your womb,” he said quietly, slowly unbuttoning his shirt as if it helped him avoid eye contact. “The doctor told me you wouldn’t be able to conceive again.” Becky couldn’t catch his breath for a second.
