Life on our little quiet corner of the country was pretty amazing. I had Lisa to make love to as often as she wanted me and when Dad was tired or Mom just wanted a little more, she would take me too. I laughed sometimes, sure I missed the everyday boring stuff we took for granted before the war but as things went, it could always be worse.
It wasn't always perfect.
"Is your knee still bothering you?" I asked.
"It'll be fine but I wanted to rest another day or two just to be sure. Remember what I taught you, no patterns, use the terrain and don't try and be a hero if you get into something," replied Dad.
"I've been well trained by you, Dad. I'll be okay."
I was going out on our monthly patrol. Usually Dad and I went together, it was time we'd chat, he'd tell me about his Military days
