Chapter 7 - Suicide

Ryan POV

I was in the kitchen with the guys, and we were cooking dinner. Ruby was still asleep on the couch, we just let her sleep until dinner is ready. We heard some sounds from the living room, it just sounded like someone mumbled, “Maybe she’s just talking in her sleep” I said, and they nodded. The sounds stopped, but suddenly she screamed, and we all ran into the living room where she was. She was crying her heart out, but she was still asleep. I went over to her and hugged her, she hugged me really tight. I stayed there until she was calm again. When I tried to get up, she would just hold on tighter. “Go continue making dinner” I said to them with a sad smile, they just stayed “No we are here for you too, in good and bad and we are not leaving” James said, I sighed but nodded. “Should we wake her up?” I asked them, “That might be a good idea, so we can get to know what’s wrong with her” Mark answered. I started to wake her up, and when she opened her eyes, she let go of me, and sat up and looked down. I put my finger under her chin and made her look into my eyes, “What happened” I asked while looking into her eyes, “Sh-she… mo-mom” she sobbed out. “What happened to her?” I asked her with the concern clear in my voice. “Sh-she only ha-have a few mo-months left” she said, and that sentence made tears come to my eyes. I hugged her and she just cried out on my shoulder, she pulled away and saw the few tears rolling down my cheeks, and she wiped them away and hugged me again. “It’s going to be okay, I promise you” I said to her, and she just hugged me tighter, I kissed her on her hair.

*30 minutes later*

The dinner was ready, and we all sat at the table. There was complete silence, tears still dripped from Ruby’s face. She looked down, and just played with her food instead of eating it. “Ruby” I said in a soft voice, she just “Hmm” she said still looking down. “Eat the food, it will make you feel better” I said to her, “I’m not hungry” she snapped. “Ruby Williams don’t snap at me and eat your damn food” I said to her with an angry voice. She shot me a glare, but she started to eat her food. The dinner continued in the silence. After the dinner she said goodnight and went upstairs, “What are we gonna do?” I asked the boys. “Maybe she shouldn’t be alone tonight” Noah said, “Yeah you are right, but I can’t stay with her tonight tomorrow I’m going to the company for work, and there’s a really important meeting” I said. “Erhh my classes have been cancelled for tomorrow, but does she still have to go to school tomorrow?” Liam asked me, “I’ll text the school and let them know that she won’t be there tomorrow” I answered him, with that Liam went up into her room. Me and the other guys just watched some tv.

Liam POV

When I walked into her room, I noticed that all the light was off, and she wasn’t in the room. I could hear sobs coming from the bathroom, and when I walked into the bathroom, I saw Ruby sitting in the bath with a bloody razor in her hand and blood coming from her thigh. I ran over to her and lifted her up on the counter, quickly I took out the first aid kit. “St-stop I don’t want help” she slurred out, she had already lost a lot of blood, so she was starting to get lightheaded. Quickly I cleansed the cut and wrapped it up, I threw out the razor and lifted her downstairs, she was unconscious. When I came downstairs, all the guys looked over at me “We have to get her to the hospital, now!” I said to them. We all went into two cars and drove to the hospital. “What happened?” Ryan asked when we were in the car, “She cut herself” I answered but still focused on her. The rest of the car ride was quiet, but when we arrived, she was taken away by the doctors.

*Some hours later*

We were still sitting in the waiting room, as soon as we saw the doctor, we quickly went over to her. “Is she okay?” Ryan asked her, “Yes she is going to be completely fine” the doctor answered with a smile, and we were all relieved. “Have she done these type of things before?” the doctor asked, us guys looked confused except Ryan. ”Yes she has, right when our mom got sick” Ryan answered with a lot of pain in his eyes. “We could see some scars on her wrist, so we just have to make sure, that it was a suicide attempt and not abuse, I’m not saying it was you or anything but just by someone” the doctor said. “Well I’m gonna go back” She said with a smile and left. Us boys sat down again and started talking.

Ruby POV

*Earlier in the day*

I was done playing Uno with my mom, and I was just going for some water. When I came into her room a doctor was there, “Sit down, sweetie” she said. I sat down on the chair beside my mom, “It’s your mom” she said “She only have a couple of months left” at that moment my heart broke. She left me alone, and I started crying while holding my mom’s hand. I couldn’t do this anymore; people think that just by being rich you’re happy but I’m miserable. I went outside to get some fresh air, when I started walking down the road, someone pulled me into an alley. When I looked up, I saw that it was John, he put a hand over my mouth just as I was about to scream. “Shut up and it will all be easier” he whispered in my ear, I tried to push him away, but he grabbed my hands and held them up against the wall. He removed his hand on my mouth but replaced it with his mouth. He started kissing me, and it was a really sloppy kiss in the nasty kinda way. I tried to get away, but he would just hold me tighter. “Kiss me back” I growled, but when I didn’t, he pulled away and slapped me, and kissed me again. I kept on trying to get away from him, but he held me tighter. At last I gave up and kissed him back. I could feel him smirk against my lips, his tongue asked for permission for coming into my mouth. I didn’t let him, so he took his free hand down my body and pinched my ass. I gasped by surprise, and he took advantage of that and plunged his tongue inside my mouth. He started to discover my mouth in a nasty way. After some time, he pulled away, “If you say anything, I will beat you up” he whispered in my ear, that sent a shiver down my spine from fear. He slapped my ass and left, that was when I started crying. A couple of minutes later, I took my phone out and went on snapchat to check if I had a bruise from when he slapped me. Luckily, I didn’t, and I started walking back to the hospital. When I came back, I sat down next to my mom and started crying again.

*An hour later*

It was time to go home, but I didn’t want to I was too sad. So, called I called Liam, he picked up quickly, I just told him I wouldn’t come back for dinner. At last the guys gave up, but after some time I saw Liam and James. I still sat beside my mom and cried. Suddenly I was pulled up and hugged, James tried to calm me down. “Why are yo-you here?” I asked them, Liam lifted my head up and wiped my tears away. “We are here to get you home” Liam answered, and I quickly said “No nee-need to” with a bit of an attitude and looked down.

“You know we can’t leave you like this, right?” Liam asked me

“I won’t leave”

“Yes you are, you should be glad that it was us who picked you up”

“No, I don’t wanna go home” I said and pulled away from them, I don’t wanna go home, because then the guys would ask so many questions, I sat down and held my mom’s hand again. “We can’t help you if you keep hiding stuff” James said to me as he kneeled in front of me. “I don’t need your help, I just need her to be healthy” I said, can’t they just give up already. “What happened?” Liam asked me, but I just ignored him. “Okay now we are gonna go home, end of discussion” James said with a really stern voice. Liam took my hand and pulled me up, “Just let me say goodbye at least” I said, and I could see how happy they were that I finally listened. He let me go over to my mom, “Goodbye, I love you and will miss you so much” I said in a whisper and kissed her forehead and walked over to the guys. James drove my car home, and I drove with Liam, I fell asleep during the drive home. I could feel I was lifted into the house and laid down. Slowly I fell asleep again. I saw my mom laying on the operation table, she was still breathing and I was beside her, “I love you, honey, you will be fine even though I might not be there so you can see me, but I will always be with you, Ryan and dad, I promise” she said with tears in her eyes, I started crying and hugged. When I hugged her, I saw a shadow coming towards us, and the shadow was John, “That’s what you get, b***h” He said as he stabbed my mom in her stomach I screamed, “Run Ruby!” she screamed. I cried but ran away. When I ran into someone, and when I looked up it was dad and Ryan. They hugged me while I cried. I could feel someone was shaking me, and I woke up from that nightmare. I saw that all the guys were around me, as usual they started asking questions.

*After dinner*

I ran up into my room, I couldn’t do this anymore. I don’t wanna live this torture known as my life. I ran into the bathroom and grabbed my razor, I sat down in the shower. I took my pants of and placed the knives on it and cut myself. I saw the blood come out of my skin and roll down my skin. The razor was quickly grabbed out of my hand, and when I looked up, I saw it was Liam. He lifted me up on the counter, and took out the first aid kit, I was starting to feel really lightheaded, “St-stop I don’t want help” I slurred out, but he ignored me and cleansed the cut and wrapped it up. He lifted me and, on the downstairs, I started to see black dots and then slipped into the comfort of the darkness.
