I froze in place, like a statue. My feet wanted to move away from him, but I couldn’t. When he stood before me like an impenetrable fortress, I could resist the strange emotions he stirred within me. But now, he was a crumbling, abandoned castle.
I feared he would break down the walls I had built around my heart. I still couldn’t believe he truly wanted me in his life. I didn’t trust him. Yet, seeing him like this eroded my resolve.
