LUCIAN's POV It felt as though she had plunged her hand into my chest and squeezed my heart with all her strength, leaving me breathless with those words. I hated how just a few sentences from her could hurt me so deeply. She had an effect on me that no one else ever had. For the first time, someone's words truly mattered to me.
