Chapter two** The dinner***

Daina stirred at her dad blankly unsure of what this whole dinner thing was about. Dad, she hesitated for a while and then asked,is there a specific reason why u want me to join u and ur friends for dinner?. well I will find out the reason later,am late so I have to leave. I will see you in the evening. with that he left, leaving her with her thoughts.somehow she feels strange,like something big was going to happen in her life.later that day,she went to her mom's room to talk to her,to see if her mum knows something she doesn't. knock knock, mum are you in there,she asked from outside, come in sweetheart,her mum called her with affection, honey, is there a problem with you? her mum asked her worriedly seeing the frown on her face. no mum,am alright she said assuring her with a smile. so what is it U need, her mum asked again. well mum, she hesitated and looked straight at her, Dad told me he was bringing some guest over for dinner, and he specifically said he wants be to presentable, i don't know why but I have a feeling that this is not an ordinary dinner. her mum's smile faultered showing a hint of worry.

mum, what's going on?.

honey, u know Ur dad is very secretive,he doesn't share anything with me, he told me the same thing but. but what? Daina asked anxiously as her mum was hesitating.

Mrs Susan sighed, seeing her daughter's anxious face, honey, am not sure but I think it's a marriage proposal with the son of his business partner. what? Daina sluter, the blood drain from her face as she took in this information. how could this be, how can her father do this to her. no, no, she shook her head, this is not possible,her father can't do this to her,he knows about her condition, how can he do this to her without her consent. she cried as her mum try to calm her. honey nothing is certain yet,am just making my own conclusions, and even if that's the case,your daddy is not a heartless man,u can easily reject it, maybe he just wants to get use to the Idea of a possible marriage as u are not getting any younger.

mum,U know how I feel about this,I don't want to get married or be close any male as it makes me sick. so how can I get married with this condition?. look here sweetheart, her mum cupped her face gently, am worried about u sweetheart,u are stronger than this, u need to come out of that shell and leave a normal life.

but that's so different from being in a close proximity with any male without having to fight, she has been living her life avoiding men like pleag. ok she can do it,she tried to assure herself, she just have to make sure that she avoids any contact with them,then everything will be fine.

it was time for dinner so she got ready trying not to appear nervous, she didn't want to embarrass her Dad by looking shabby as he values reputation more than anything,but she didn't want to over dress too as not to attract more attention from anyone. at the end she decided to put on a simple blue evening short dress.and apply some makeup. since her Dad haven't asked for her,she knew the guests haven't arrived. she decided to face time her bestie Jenny to fill her in on everything, Jenny picked up almost immediately, smiling brightly like she just won a lottery. hey bestie, I was just about to call you,how was the match last night ? sorry I couldn't come with you, Jenny said. it's ok bestie, I understand, u have patients that needs Ur attention. she replied and Jenny smiled in and said thanks. so what's up? u look tense,is everything alright? and why are u all dressed up? Jenny asked her curiously. oh bestie, Daina sighed as she told her best friend everything.

ooh, that's a lot girl,are you sure u are going to be fine? Jenny asked her worriedly, they have been best friends since high school and she was also the one who informed Diana's parents about her disappearance five years ago,if she hadn't notified them on time Daina wasn't sure if would still be alive by now ,she was both her saviour and bestie.Daina can't imagine a life without her .

u don't have to go if you are not comfortable with it. Jenny tried to reason, no, i can't do that, Dad will be angry and i don't want to upset him.

Sidney the maid has been sent to get her , so she went down to the dinning room,she heard voices and as soon as she stepped in everyone was silent as all eyes were on her. her mum sensing her nerves, quickly took her hand and pulled her to sit with her,she smiled gratefully at her mom. hello everyone she greated , her Dad gave her an approving smile and proudly introduced her to his friends. sweetheart come here,she looked at him surprised by this sudden love, her father hardly call her sweet names. she walked up to him as he introduced her ,meet Mark my friend and also business partner, and this is his son John, also a business manager.mr Mark was quite older than her dad and his son mark, looks to be in his late twenties, almost the same age with her as she guess. and this is my beautiful daughter Diana he continued with pride,she is my most precious gift.she smiled and looked at him again in surprise,he has never treated her this nicely before,as he always looked at her like a big disappointment to him. she turned back to see John looking at her like a lost puppy, and her stomach churned. it's really nice to meet you he said smiling giving her his hand to shake.
