CHAPTER FOURTEEN: BUNGLED ATTEMPT Once in the palace, Ratt rapidly accompanied Irikah to the extreme left hall. There had been sweat on his face, but he did not bother to wipe it. “ Kindly take your seat here while I inform the King of your arrival,” he said, ushering her into a round wooden chair. “ Thanks, my son.” Ratt went to His Majesty King William IV. He saw in the main hall. “ Long life, Your Majesty!” he greeted and bowed low. “ The King shall live forever! What is it, Ratt?” The King coughed just once and paid rapt attention to him. “ I am here to inform you of the presence of an unfamiliar visitor in the palace, Your Majesty,” Ratt had said back, again bowing low. “ A visitor today Saturday?
