10. The Wooden EggWith a feeling of grim tightness in his chest, Sabienn’s eyes opened on to his vision. He was face to face with his brother Stork who had just left the arena after the egg-eating contest, putting the timeline of this scene at two nights ago.
Stork’s face was drained of all colour and his usual manner of humour and sarcasm that would have made his face shine was replaced with solid lines of horror, caution and uncertainty. He stared through Sabienn and Sabienn turned to see what Stork’s eyes were focused on.
