Chapter Ten.

When I entered my next class, some of my classmates gave me a nod to show they were with me. It was only because I won one fight and showed the school's b***h her place. Thank you, Mom, for putting me in those self-defense classes. When I reached my seat, I sat down, took my stuff out, and placed it on my desk. As the teacher walked in, she started the lesson. This time, there wasn’t anyone who had anything to say to me or offer their opinion about me. The class ended quickly, and I was thankful for that because it meant lunch. Food—thank the gods above. As soon as I put my stuff in my locker, I walked over to the cafeteria to get food. When I entered, I spotted Musa in line waiting for her turn. When I reached her, she turned her head. “I heard you finally put Stefanie in her place. The only pity is that I wasn’t there to watch and laugh in her face about it,” Musa said with an evil smile. “Yeah, well, she was just talking s**t and making empty threats. I didn’t throw the first punch—it was only self-defense.” “Well, you are the talk of the day. But that’s not the whole story, is it?” “No. She was saying I needed to be put in my place, so I said, ‘Well, the last time I checked, I had a higher title than her.’ Don’t tell the boys I played my rank on her, though. I haven’t fully accepted it yet. Then she started shouting that I’d pay for it and tried to throw the first punch, which, by the way, didn’t land at all. She needs better combat lessons. Then I put her in her place and made an example of her for not giving me shit.” “What I don’t get is how you made her submit to you. You’re a Luna. Well, you’re going to be when you mark and mate with the twins. But that’s for another day. Do you have more questions for me about the werewolf way?” Musa said with a tone. I rolled my eyes at her, but before I could think of anything, Melody beat me to it. “Before that attempt at a fight, some of her classmates bared their necks for Violette. They were submitting to her, recognizing her as their Alpha. Which isn’t possible unless her biological father is an Alpha, right?” Melody asked Musa. “Well, hello there, Luna. I don’t think we’ve met before, to be honest with you,” Musa replied. “Yes, that’s the most reasonable explanation for why they recognized her. You’re probably the firstborn daughter of their Alpha, which means you’re not only a Luna, you’re also an Alpha by blood. If the pack is a little more modern, you can rule the pack yourself. Oh, this s**t is too funny. You’re the Luna of two Alphas, and you’ve gotten two Lunas for one Alpha if you accept the situation,” Musa said, dying with laughter. “That was Melody, by the way,” I told Musa, and to be honest, the situation was kind of funny. So, I joined her in laughing because my life was getting harder by the minute. While we were laughing, we almost held up the line. As soon as we got our food, we walked over to a table and sat down. But what happened next was something new. The classmates who had recognized me as their ‘Alpha heir’ sat down next to me. As I looked up, I saw a girl who I knew had been bullied by Stefanie. “Is it okay if I sit down, Alpha?” she asked me in a quiet voice. “Sure thing. You don’t have to call me Alpha yet, though. You can call me Violette if you like.” “Wow, you’re nothing like most Alphas. And that’s a good thing. My name is Nova Wilson. And if I’m correct, I’ll be the next Beta in your father’s pack.” “Nice to meet you, Nova. And to answer your question, I don’t know who my father is, to be honest. Until last night at midnight, I didn’t even know I was a wolf. So yeah, there’s that,” I told everyone honestly. “Maybe we can help with some questions if you like?” “That would be amazing. Because I’m getting more questions and no answers at all. No offense, Musa. So far, you’ve been a great help.” “No offense taken. If I were you, I’d pull my hair out,” Musa replied. “What do you want to know, Violette?” “Do I have siblings?” “No, at least not that we know of. We believe your mother and father are mates. Do you know the concept of mates?” “Yeah, I do. I’ve got two of them,” I said bitterly. “Can you tell us which pack you belong to? Because that will also be handy to know,” Musa asked. “We belong to The Bloodmoon Pack.” “As in your Alpha is Alpha Alexander McReid?” “Yes, that is our Alpha,” Nova said. Musa's face said something different. “Musa, what is it?” “Well, the thing is, Luna, our pack and theirs have had some conflicts.” “How long already?” “Centuries,” she answered. I sighed. Of course, it had to be a rival pack. “Wait, Luna? Why are you called Luna? You’re an Alpha, not a Luna,” Nova asked me. “Well, better tell them now than have them find out later,” I thought. “When you asked me if I knew about mates, I said I knew what it was. And my next comment was that I have two of them.” “Wait, who are your mates?” She asked me with a confused look. “Damian and Caleb Jones.” “You mean THE JONES TWINS? The Twin Alpha heirs of the Blackfang pack?” Nova whispered, almost screaming. “I didn’t know their pack was called that, but I guess,” I told her, shrugging my shoulders. “Wait, are you Musa Knight? The next Luna’s Beta?” Nova asked Musa. “Yes, that’s me,” Musa replied with a wink. “Wait, what is an Luna's Beta?” I asked, not understanding. “Like the twins have Logan, you have me. If you’re away with the Alphas or alone, it would be my job to make sure your wishes are heard and respected,” Musa explained. “So, you would be like my personal assistant or something?” I asked her, looking over at Nova. I saw she had a worried look on her face. “What’s wrong, Nova?” “Well, if you’re mated to the twins and they are Alphas—which, by the way, you are too—what will happen to the packs? We’ve hated each other for centuries. What will happen to the positions some of us had?” “I think those are some valid questions, and I wish I had an answer that would be good enough to take some of the worry away, but the things I do know are these facts. One, yes, I am mated to the Alpha heirs of Blackfang, and that makes me the Luna of the Blackfang pack. Two, before today, I thought I was just a human with voices in my head, but I know better now. Three, my biological father is the Alpha of the Bloodmoon pack, which makes me an Alpha heir too. Even though I’ve never even spoken to my father. And lastly, yes, the future is scary, and so is change, but the future is also exciting. Do you know why? Because we won’t know what it brings. And like you said, the packs have hated each other for centuries, but that’s in the past. Now it’s our turn to make a change and show them that there is a different way.” I told Nova—and any other wolves from Bloodmoon—this as Musa filmed me, probably to show her Alphas. This was so not how I thought I would spend my day today. “Nova, can you arrange an appointment with your Alpha for me?” I asked. Her worries were valid, and it was about time I talked with my sperm donor. “Sure. Any time you are not available?” “School hours, but that’s clear, I guess. Oh, and make sure Musa and Rose are invited, please.” “Why do I need to be there?” Musa asked. “Well, Musa, aren’t you my Beta for the time being while we figure out this situation?” “And Rose?” “Well, Rose is Logan’s mate, so I guess she needs a pack transfer to be accepted in the Blackfang pack, no?” “I don’t know why you were so worried that you’d be a bad Luna. You’re already thinking about everything. With everything going on, it’s still your birthday, and you still haven’t had time to talk to the twins yet. And yet, you’re already owning this Luna job. It makes me proud to be your Beta,” Musa said, pride in her voice. “It makes me proud to be your wolf too,” Melody joined, and it made me giggle. Finally, I could eat some lunch—not that my head was okay with it, but my body needed it. I knew that if I didn’t eat, I’d be in trouble with the boys, and I had enough things keeping me busy right now. As I was trying to eat, I noticed that Caleb and Damian weren’t there eating lunch. They were Alphas. Don’t they need food all the time? “Musa, where are they?” “Probably at home, trying to respect your decision to be left alone today.” “Was it that hard to not be around your mate?” “Violette, my Alpha has time for you tomorrow.” “Thank you, Nova, for setting it up,” I said with a smile. “Musa, I trust you to tell your Alphas what happened today during this lunch break and what we found out.” “Yes, Luna,” Musa said with a nod. And with that, lunch break was over.
