Morning sunlight filtered through the towering mountains as Kai, Aiden, and Rylan ventured farther from the hidden lands of the Sun Clan than anyone their age ever had.
The narrow trail twisted through thick forests and rocky cliffs. Strange birds called from the treetops while cool winds carried the scent of pine.
Aiden stretched his arms behind his head.
"So this is the outside world."
"I expected more monsters already."
Rylan sighed.
"You've wanted monsters for five whole minutes."
"Be patient."
Kai smiled quietly.
For the first time in his life, the world felt endless.
Villages...
Kingdoms...
People who had never heard of the Sun Clan.
Everything was new.
As the three friends continued walking, they reached a hill overlooking a small farming village.
Smoke drifted into the sky.
But something felt wrong.
"There should be people working," Kai said.
"It's too quiet."
Suddenly...
A frightened little girl burst from the trees.
"Please!"
"Help us!"
Before anyone could react, she collapsed from exhaustion.
Kai knelt beside her.
"What happened?"
The girl looked up with tear-filled eyes.
"Monsters..."
"They came from the forest."
"They took everyone."
Kai's face hardened.
"When?"
"This morning."
Aiden tightened his fists.
"We're wasting time."
Without another word, the three rushed toward the village.
When they arrived...
The place had become a nightmare.
Homes were burning.
Carts lay overturned.
Fields had been destroyed.
There wasn't a single villager in sight.
Only claw marks across the ground.
Rylan examined the tracks.
"They didn't kill everyone."
"They captured them."
Kai nodded.
"They're heading into the forest."
Suddenly...
A loud growl echoed between the trees.
Several Shadow Beasts leaped from the darkness.
Unlike the ones Kai had fought before, these creatures were larger.
Black armor covered their bodies.
Glowing purple crystals grew from their shoulders.
"They've evolved," Rylan whispered.
The monsters charged.
Kai immediately raised his Solar Morpher.
"Solar Ranger!"
Golden light exploded around him.
"SOLAR RANGER!"
His armor formed in a brilliant flash as the Solar Saber appeared in his hand.
Aiden and Rylan drew their weapons.
The battle began.
One beast lunged at Kai.
He blocked its claws before spinning and striking its chest.
The monster staggered backward but didn't fall.
"It's stronger!"
Another beast attacked from behind.
Aiden tackled it before its claws could reach Kai.
"I've got this one!"
Rylan fired several energy arrows from his bow, forcing two more beasts back into the trees.
Kai focused.
He remembered Elder Orion's words.
"Power without calm becomes weakness."
Closing his eyes for only a heartbeat, he took one deep breath.
When he opened them again...
Everything slowed.
He could see every movement.
Every attack.
Every opening.
The next beast charged.
Kai stepped aside.
One clean strike.
The Solar Saber blazed with golden fire.
The Shadow Beast shattered into black dust.
Aiden stared.
"Okay..."
"That was awesome."
The remaining monsters hesitated.
Then they fled deeper into the forest.
Kai looked toward the darkness.
"They're leading us somewhere."
Rylan frowned.
"Which means it's probably a trap."
Kai nodded.
"I know."
"But innocent people are waiting."
Without hesitation, he ran after them.
Far above the trees...
Hidden among the branches...
General Noctra watched everything.
Her silver hair moved gently in the wind.
"So..."
"The Sun Ranger is learning faster than expected."
She smiled.
"But every hero has one weakness."
"Compassion."
"And I intend to use it."
At the same time...
Hundreds of miles away...
Lyra traveled beyond the borders of the Moon Clan for the very first time.
Her brother Darian walked beside her.
"I still think Elder Selene should have sent warriors with us."
Lyra smiled.
"She believes this journey is something I have to face."
Before Darian could answer...
A silver butterfly landed on Lyra's Lunar Bracelet.
The crystal suddenly began glowing.
Lyra froze.
"What is it?"
She looked toward the distant horizon.
"I don't know..."
"But someone..."
"Someone else has awakened."
Far away...
Kai's Solar Bracelet also began shining.
He stopped walking.
The warm golden light pulsed across his wrist.
For just a single second...
He saw a vision.
A girl surrounded by silver moonlight.
Then it disappeared.
Kai blinked.
"What... was that?"
The wind carried a soft whisper across the forest.
As if the sun and moon had recognized one another.
Though separated by mountains...
Destiny had taken its first step.
