Chapter 16. An evening breeze

The warms afternoon, at the beautiful housing in the suburb, outskirt of the city. The wind blew breezily from the valley at the foot of the hill. The mountain looks like a sleeping princess is visible close and clear—no wonder the wind blows so freshly. 

Children were running around in the park in the middle of beautiful housing. The atmosphere is so warm and comfortable. Louisa, Amelia, and Robert's ten-year-old daughter have chased Evan, her brother, with warm laughter. At the same time, Evan avoids her sister, Louisa, who was running towards him, laughing loudly.

The long Hair of a cute black beauty- sweet girl looks swaying as she chases after her little brother; Louisa has lovely dark brown skin that contrasts and matches her beautiful Asian face. Quite different from his young brother Evan, he looks like a Caucasian kid. Evan was like his mother Amelia, but his Hair was exactly like his father.  Robert's hair, wavy and thick, a little bit brown.

 The siblings look happy; their crisp laughter made the people in the park smile when they saw them running and catching—what a beautiful breeze evening. 

Amelia took a breath deeply, as she remembers: 

the past, about secrets, and about the promise she had made as if weighing on her feelings. Louisa suddenly shouted at her: 

"Mom, look! daddy is coming" 

reflected, Amelia turned towards the sound of a car that stopped right in front of her house: 

"Oh, yes! There is your dad, guys." 

"He's coming home!'

"Come on, the sun is going set down soon, let us go home and take a shower." 

The children run in unison and cheering to their father. 

" Daddy is home!" 

"Daddy is home!" said Louisa and Evan repeatedly and happily.

Robert is an environmental engineer who works for a private company, where he always does assignments outside the city and region. Almost a week Robert had just returned home after doing research part of his job as demand from the company, he needs to work in another city for few days. Even though Amelia does not work, his income can be more than enough to support his small family. But because he promised his wife when they got married, exchanges the vows, they would help each other, to support but not restrain each other, and free expresses themselves.

Amelia and Robert both have a tragic past in their story of life.  A five-year-old Robert was abandoned by his parents; after a tragic traffic accident that took the parents' lives. None of the relatives he knew and came to take care of him. Finally, he was handed over to an orphanage cared for by an exceedingly kind Catholic priest, Father Carlos Jones. While Amelia never knew her biological parents since birth, father Carlos found the baby girl with a letter beside her, inside the bassinet. The baby was left alone in front of the church door.

The baby wrapped in a pink baby blanket embroidered with the words: "Amelia," and a necklace around her neck, with a heart pendant, the only evidence that led her to find traces of her mother. The nuns raised Amelia, and they were given a name: Amelia, after the name embroidered on the edge of her blanket and the last name of the father Carlos, the priest "Jones" since then known as 'Amelia Jones.'  

Amelia and Robert seem destined to meet and unite; they both live and grew up in an orphanage. A sweet little girl always accompanies a -five-year-old boy who has just entered the orphanage; he was so quiet and didn't want to talk to other people. The tragedy that befell him and his parents left a deep scar; Amelia painstakingly comforted him and always invited him to play. Amelia's kindness is unforgettably in Robert's heart because of Amelia's patiently never-tiring in accompanying him when he feels alone in this world. Every night he cries and calls for his mother, Amelia, who sleeps on the top bunk, comes down to accompany him and sleeps beside him until he falls asleep.

 Robert promised to protect Amelia from everything that bothered her and made her uncomfortable. by time passed until they grow up to be teenagers, togetherness makes a strong bond between them.  Robert secretly fell in love with Amelia, a sweet girl with white skin, brown eyes, and brown hair. But Robert an extrovert who is shy afraid to express his feelings. Seeing amelia, which boys often approach, makes Robert afraid to lose her. Not infrequently, Robert tore up love letters given by his classmates to Amelia.

 They go to Catholic school together, the school where children student is separated, boys and girls. Their childhood and youth were always together and seldom separated. But they can still meet during music lessons, choir, and sports lessons. However, they had to separate; Robert, an intelligent kid, chose an engineering course. In contrast, Amelia decided to enter nursing school as her dream since childhood was to become a nurse, and fate brought her together with her faithful friend, Bertha.

 Robert unloaded all his belongings from the car's trunk with the help of Nida, the maid. He bought lots of gifts for his wife and children. 

Amelia watched them from the door while holding baby Angeline who was getting healthier and plumper. Sometimes, Robert looks at his wife briefly with a smile. He seems incredibly happy to meet his family again after leaving them for few days. 

Even though they had been sad in the past, they became part of their life, but it didn't stop Amelia and Robert from hoping and believing that life was beautiful.

  Their life is serene and peaceful; There is nothing to ask for more than to give thanks to the almighty God:  for a beautiful little family, a perfect wife, a handsome husband, and three beautiful children. 

But as the saying goes: " There is nothing perfect in this life,"

 The same as what thought in Robert's mind, and there is something that always bothers the spouses. That they have a secret in the past, they must reveal someday. They are just waiting for the right time. Amelia only hopes that everything will be fine in the future if the secret has finally to revealed. 

However, unlike Robert, there are things which he was afraid of more than revealing secrets. It's about loss, love, trust, and everything built with a complex over the years. Can be destroyed,  Only he and God know.  

The wind was blowing coldly from the open window of the primary's bedroom; it seems cold as if it is giving a sign that tells it will rain tonight. The gust of wind was slightly strong for a moment, making Robert, who was changing his clothes in the room, startled because he heard glass vibrating loudly. He looked out the window and was about to close it. Still, it was a bit difficult as Robert forgot to wear his minus glasses. He was trying hard to see with his poor vision. Suddenly stopped his action because he saw a shadow staring at him from the direction of a large tree growing outside the fence; Robert tried to see clearly. Only a shadow, but it looks like the figure of a woman standing still looking at him.

 He refused to close the window but turned to look for a flashlight in the drawer and quickly returned to the window trying to light up the shadows under the tree; there was nothing to be seen there, only a tree with leaves waving in the evening breeze.
