Kcris & Jeena

Alex is in the hospital.

Jeena gets to the hospital, parks her car, and rushes to the reception to ask, “Patient named Alexis Taylor?” The nurse there, checks in the system and tells her, “Emergency ward. Room no. 24. It’s on the second floor.”

“Yeah, I know. It’s next to the children’s ward, right?”

“Yes ma’am.”

Jeena hurries straight into the room but the nurse stops her saying, “Once the doctor is done examining the patient, we’ll call you. So please wait in the waiting area.”

“Is she hurt badly?”

“Ma’am please wait in the waiting area. Let us do our job.”

Jeena gives up and goes to the waiting area. Whilst waiting she hears a familiar voice saying, “I’ll have a chocolate ice-cream.” Jeena immediately recognizes little Ria’s voice and thinks to herself, “She must be here to get her dressing changed.” Jeena turns to look but gets only a glimpse as a nurse comes in the very same moment from the other side asking, “Who is with Miss Alexis Taylor?” Jeena could only see Ria getting inside, holding someone’s hand from the backside entrance to the waiting area. Before Jeena could make out who the person accompanying Ria is, she has already turned toward the nurse to answer, “It’s me. I am with her.”

“Doctor needs to talk to you about the patient. So please follow me”

“OK” and Jeena starts to follow the nurse. Whereas on the other hand, Kcris picks up Ria in her arms and takes a few steps back so Jeena can’t see both of them.

Jeena keeps looking back but can’t see Ria anymore, which makes her worry and question herself, “Did I actually see Ria or am I imagining things now?” Kcris notices this and thinks that maybe Jeena wants to talk to Ria or maybe check upon her.

Once Jeena is gone Kcris goes to the seat where Jeena has been sitting. Kcris sees a cap lying on the floor and instantly recognizes it’s the same one, Jeena had with herself during the Alex incident on Sky’s birthday. She picks it up and gently cleans it with her hands. Then Kcris makes Ria sit on the same spot and tells her, “You wait for me here and keep this cap with you. If you see your new friend, give it to her. Don’t go anywhere.”

Little Ria takes the cap and says, “Ok”

Kcris goes and makes a call before collecting Ria’s meds. Here the doctor tells Jeena, “Miss Taylor had a slight concussion. We have stitched her wound but would like to keep her under observation for two days. During this time swelling in her right arm will also subside. After a few minutes, we will shift her into the room.”

Jeena goes and clears the bill. The nurse there asks Jeena to wait in the waiting area till they shift the patient into the room.

“What about her medicine?”

“Miss, medicines will be given to the patient at the specified time only, by the attending nurse in the room itself.”

Jeena feels that someone is looking at her so she turns only to see an almost empty hallway with few nurses examining the patients for triage. Jeena ignores all this and goes to the waiting area. Kcris who hid herself to avoid Jeena from seeing her comes out and goes straight to the reception.

“Hello, Miss Pattinson. You must be here for Ria. Just give me a moment to generate the bill.”

Kcris has a habit of addressing people by their names, no matter who they are, whether it’s the hotel staff, the waiter, or for that matter anybody. And not only this, but she also tends to remember all those names. Maybe this is one of the many reasons that most people are so hospitable toward her.

“Nurse Anna, that girl who just went was here for Alexis Taylor, right? I know it’s against the patient’s confidentiality to tell about the details, but can you just help me a little with not-so-significant details about the patient? That girl Jeena helped bring Ria to the hospital the other day. So can you please…”

Anna smiles like a crazy fan and goes like, “Do you know that I admire you a lot? You are so kind to people and even try to understand their work so well. I really want to help you but… (Anna is hesitant but can’t control her urge to help Kcris so,) The patient is doing ok but will be under observation for 48 hours. It was a car accident and we will shift the patient to her room in 5 to 10 minutes.”

Kcris express her gratitude by saying, “You really don’t know how much of a help you have been to me. Thanks a lot but I need another favor from you, Anna.” Kcris sees slight tension on Anna’s face so right away tells her, “Don’t worry this favor won’t jeopardize your work ethic.”

Anna with a huge sigh of relief, “Oh! then it’s okay. You can ask for anything.”

“Can you please upgrade Miss Tylor’s room to a VIP room and put the extra charges on my card along with Ria’s bill? And please don’t let them know about this as I don’t want them to feel overburdened. Just find some excuse.”

Anna gives both the bills and credit card to Kcris.

In the waiting room, Jeena sees little Ria sitting with her cap and playing video games. The moment Ria sees Jeena coming toward her, she runs and almost trips but Jeena catches her in time. In a slightly scolding tone, Jeena says, “You shouldn’t run like this. You already got injured once. What will you do if you fall again? Huh?”

Ria is about to cry so Jeena straight away picks Ria in her arms and pats her back, saying, “Sorry baby. I won’t scold you anymore. Can you please forgive your friend? I won’t do it again.”

Ria looks at Jeena’s face and asks her, “Promise?”

Jeena makes Ria sit in the seat and herself sits on the knees right in front, facing Ria. Jeena wipes Ria’s tears with both of her hands and answers, “Yes, I promise. But you also promise me that you’ll not run carelessly like this again.”

Little Ria sways her head cutely and says, “Ok I also promise.”

Ria cutely hits her head with her hand and says, “Oh! No, I again forgot.”

Jeena can’t stop herself from smiling when she looks at Ria’s cute gestures. Jeena asks her, “What did you forget, Ria?”

Ria picks up the cap from the side seat and gives it to Jeena saying, “Mommy-two asked me to give this to you.”

Jeena is slightly confused and asks, “Who is mommy-two, Ria? Your nanny?”

“No, not her. Oh! Ho… That day I showed you my mommy-two. Don’t you remember?” Looking at Jeena’s bewildered face Ria takes a pause and says, “ The one who was scolding everyone.”

“Oh, Kcris is your mommy-two.”

“Yes.”

“Ria, why do you call her mommy-two?”

In a cute and innocent voice, Ria answers, “Because she is not mommy-one.”

Jeena gets that Ria is not understanding what exactly she is trying to ask her. So Jeena asks Ria again, “Who is your mommy-one? Where is she?”

Ria makes a sad face and answers, “I don’t know. Nanny aunt told me that she left me and went away, so I don’t have mommy-one. But mommy-two is nice. You know when I was crying she told me she will be my mommy-two and will take care of me until my mommy-one comes back.”

After listening to this, Jeena starts to think that maybe Kcris is not the mother but at the same time thinks, “Why would Kcris be taking care of this child if she isn’t hers?”

“Do you know how to play this game?”, Ria’s question pulls back Jeena from her thoughts and she replies to Ria, “No, I don’t know but we can play together.”

Kcris comes back to take Ria with her but doesn’t go inside the waiting area. She stays at the door observing both Ria and Jeena which basically meant watching Ria teaching Jeena how to play the video game. Jeena sits with little Ria on her lap and both of their eyes are glued to the phone screen. Jeena has slightly put her head on Ria’s shoulder and both are busy with themselves. The entire scene is so cute and beautiful that Kcris can’t stop herself from smiling. She also takes a picture of them for keepsake. A few moments later a nurse comes to inform Jeena that Alex has been transferred to her room and she can visit her now.

Jeena makes Ria sit on the side seat and asks her, “How long did your mommy ask you to wait here?”

Ria starts to look towards the ceiling as if she is trying to remember something and then says, “I don’t know. Mommy-two told me to wait for her here.” Jeena is all confused about what to do now as she is reluctant to leave a child so small like this on her own.

Kcris is still there and sees all this so she right away calls her driver to come to the waiting room. The moment he comes Kcris instructs him, “Paraam, you go bring Ria with you and I’ll wait in the car. Give me the car keys and don’t forget to thank Miss Jeena for taking care of Ria for the time being.”

The driver goes in and tells Jeena, “Miss, I am here to take little miss with me. And thank you Miss Jeena for taking care of little miss.”

Ria holds Jeena’s hand and says, “No. I want to be with my new friend. I don’t want to go home now.”

Jeena puts little Ria’s cute little hands between her hands and slightly lowers her body to request her, “I will meet you again. You should go home, little child. And when we meet again, we will play a lot of video games.” Ria starts to cry and Jenna doesn’t know what to do now. Jeena looks at Paraam (the driver)and asks him, “Can she stay with me for some more time? My girlfriend is in the hospital so I’ll be in the hospital for the time being. If it is ok, you can come after a few hours to pick her up. You can take my number for the safer side.”

Kcris is still outside. She right away calls her driver on his cell and goes like, “Paraam tell Miss Jeena that you can wait for Ria in the waiting area and she can take Ria with her. I have the car keys so I’ll go by myself. You wait here and make sure Ria doesn’t trouble Miss Jeena much as she also has to take care of her girlfriend. You call the office for another car.” After the call is disconnected Paraam tells Jeena, “Miss, you can take little miss with you. I’ll wait here. And, if you need anything you can ask me without hesitation.”

Jeena thanks Paraam and then picks up Ria. Jeena looks at Ria with a smile and asks her, “Now happy?” Ria smiles and says, “Yes.”

Later when Jeena goes to the allotted room, she finds that Alex is not there so she instantly goes to the reception only to find that Alex has been shifted to V.I.P. room no. 4.

Jeena who is still holding Ria’s hand, right away asks the receptionist, “Why? And do we need to pay extra for that?”

“Ma’am due to some issues in the previously allotted room, Miss Taylor has been shifted to the new room. And you don’t have to pay anything for this.”

Jeena along with Ria goes to see Alex. The moment Jeena sees Alex, she lets go of Ria’s hand and hugs her tightly. Jeena starts to cry mumbling, “I am such an unruly girlfriend. I knew you have been working so hard these past couple of days. I thought of dropping and picking you up from work multiple times. But still didn’t do it. I am so sorry.”

Alex slightly pats Jeena back in order to calm her down but she doesn’t stop. So at last Alex slightly pushes Jeena away, holding her by her shoulders and tells her, “Little Rai is watching you, babe. She will be worried to see you like a crybaby. So, please calm down. I am okay. Nothing has happened to me except for the car which was completely wrecked.”

Jeena stops crying, wipes her tears, and immediately scolds Alex, “How can you be so careless? What if something happened to you? I don’t care about the car. It’s you who matters the most to me.”

Alex smiles as she finds it amusing how Jeena’s mood has changed so fast from sad to angry. She asks Jeena, “Arent you gonna let me talk to Ria?... I mean if you’re going to continue to scold me how come I’ll talk to her?”

Jeena gestures for Ria to come and so she follows. Jeena picks up Ria and says to her, “Say Hello to Alex, baby girl.” Rai looks toward Alex and says, “Hello Aunty.”

Then Ria asks Alex (showing her injured elbow to Alex), “You also got hurt like me?”

Alex makes a grumpy face and asks Ria, “How come she is your friend and I have become your aunt? This is not fair, baby girl.”

Before Ria can say something Alex feels a bit dizzy. So Jeena right away puts Ria down and holds Alex with the other hand.

“I am okay, babe. I guess it’s the medicines.”

“Alex, enough now…You are not saying a single word. Just lie down and take some rest. I and Ria, are going to sit on the couch and play some video games.”

Alex doesn’t resist and lies down. A moment later, there is a knock on the door and Jeena gets the door. Paraam is there with a packet which he passes to Jeena saying, "Miss, there are some snacks for you and little miss. Please eat the ice-cream first or it will melt."
