TALKING & MAKING FRIENDS WITH MY ASSISTANTS

8 "Argh", I groaned as I stretched my body "Ya, we're done for now", Lucy said as we walked towards the shelf "Could we have a little chitchat?" I asked "Mhmm, yh", Tracy replied. It was our break period, we were free to do whatever we wanted. We walked past some busy staffs on our way to the garden. I took out my phone and took pictures of some beautiful flowers, spices and herbs in the garden. "So, what are we talking about?" "Maybe about ourselves", I said as I sat on a bench in the garden gazebo and took out my flask from my pack "Woo, are you still a kid?" Tracy asked as she let out a loud laugh "No, just like behaving like one", I said and began eating my cold kedgeree "Well speaking of chitchat, we are the only children of the Williams. We hail from the Ontario province of Canada and we reside at Oxford street in London", Lucy said Wow!, I said to myself "Also, I'm a graduate of Enology while she's a certified chef who went to various culinary schools", she said as Tracy chuckled " A chef!, how come a brewer?" I asked shockingly "I actually went to a winery college after my culinary school. So what's up with you?" Tracy asked "Well", I said as I covered my flask "I'm an adopted daughter of a single mom with two sons", I paused and studied their countenance "what?" I asked "You're an adopted child but don't look it", Tracy said as Lucy nodded in affirmation "Really!" "Yes, really" "Whatever", I said and continued "I'm a graduate of Horticulture and in my last month of Enology, I'm British and twenty-three" "Wow, so you're a flower fancier" "Yeah" "Ughm, sorry to say but why were you put up for adoption? We're your parents teens?" Tracy asked "No they weren't teens, I lost them both in a car crash. It was my uncles and aunts who put me up for adoption and a single mom of two vibrant boys got me", I said with great joy "Wow, so pathetic. So where do you stay?" "Garters street, Bills estate to be precised", I replied. We kept on talking and laughing, till the megaphone called out on all staff "Everyone get ready for work, it's time to make haste and get our hands to work as we brew more", he said "What! This is past two pm and we're still going to work ", I murmured to myself as Lucy nodded. This time around our job was to brew eight gallons of Rum and make three gallons of Bloody Mary. We three quickly got to work. I sectioned our tack into three; Lucy was to get enough bottles of Vodka and enough gallons of luke-warm water from our superior, Tracy was to get seven baskets of freshly peeled sugarcane from the gardener in charge while I get three bowls of washed seedless tomatoes. LUCY'S POV I quickly got to work, I liked the way Brenda had sectioned us all. She was a good instructor unlike Charles who is now our Monday to Friday instructor. I quickly carried two buckets of Vodka and enough gallons of warm water to our working section. I gradually moved them little by little until I was done with my own task. Tracy had kept four baskets of the cane sugar while Brenda had already finished her task. We took three baskets and marched onto the gardener's working section which was always a neat looking place. The gardener who had attended to Tracy had quickly peeled enough sugarcane and helped fill our baskets. Within some minutes, we were able to get all ingredients set, this time around it was a co-operative work in which all hands were on deck.
