This was already 1:00 pm, time had flied, I said to myself as I board a taxi to Pop street; this was where Theo's school was erected. It was a slow but steady drive. I took out my cellphone and called Scarlet. Scarlet was my best friend, she's in her late twenties, though she isn't that brilliant academically, she was smart too, well, she's actually Ted's girl friend; he's my handsome neighbor. She can also be seen as my favorite girl because she's a brunette and a dancer who has a wild knowledge of good wine.
"Hi sweetie", she called
"Hey Scarl, how're you doing?"
"Life's going on smoothly over here, by the way where are you?" she asked
" I'm in a taxi cab, I'm off to Theo's school to pick him up ", I replied
Wow, what a nice sisterly character ", she said while I chuckled
"Can I come visit, got your favorite snack with me and a good news ", I said
"Sure you can and can't wait for the good news, see you then ", she said and hung up.
Theo had already started coming out from the school gate with his new girlfriend, then sighted me and ran towards for a hug
"Hi Theo"
"Hey sis, how was your day?" he asked
"Nice and yours?"
"A little hectic ", he responded and gave her an am-gonna-call-you gesture towards her direction
"So who's she?" I asked while we walked gently towards the cab
"Ughm let's say, my new mentee", he said while wiping off something from his face
"Hmmm, new mentee or new girlfriend", I teased
" Okay fine, you got me", he said laughing "she's actually Hillary Smith by name and also my girlfriend; not new!!", he pointed out and said I sounded like as if he had had one before.

There was an aura of silence when we got to the Bill's estate. This was mom's boss's estate which she had gifted her to run as one of her trusted workers. Mom would also collect the house fees from our two neighbors and would send it to her, they always shared it in equal halves
"How much is it?" I asked the cab driver who had driven us
"It's five dollars", he replied with a husky rude voice
"Okay", I said and brought out his pay from my shoulder bag
I knocked lightly at the gate and Mr Lewis opened up quickly
"Ah, welcome Miss Brenda and little Theo", he said and shook hands with Theodore
"Good afternoon Mr Lewis, how was your day?"
"It was normal as usual ", he replied and bolted the gate gently
Yey; Theo squimpered with his uniform and sat on the parlor couch. He unbuttoned the button of his trouser and reached out for his phone that was close to the flower vase on the parlor's table.
"Hmm, so quick", I said while picking up his schoolbag and lunch pack that was on the floor carpet
"What's so quick?" he asked while moving a quick type on his phone. Maybe Hillary - I said to myself.
"Isn't that her number?" I asked and moved away
"Whose?" he asked
"Hillary's ", I shouted from upstairs and opened his room, kept everything in check, then came down to the parlor
"Don't know what you're talking about"
"Really!", I said and quickly snatched the little paper in his hands"Woo, this her number, right?'' I asked and waved the paper at his face
"Yeah it is, at least I'm bold enough to say that to your face", he said with great confidence
"Haha, little bro is in love ", I teased and gave him back the paper.
