The Alpha Kings Destined

Chapter Two

It took us eight bloody long hours before we finally made it to the Alpha kings territory. I was in a cranky mood since my wolf was on edge and wanted to be let out for a run. 

I got out of the car stretching my poor muscles and looked at the building in front of us. It was huge but not as big as I imagined it to be. 

"I thought his pack house would be bigger than this," Avril said voicing my thoughts.

"This isn't the pack house. This is the Alpha kings home aside from the pack house."

I gaped at what my father said considering it was a huge house. And just for one person? thats ridiculous.

"He lives here by himself?" I asked curious as to why the Alpha King doesn't stay in the pack house.

"No he lives with his chosen Delilah," my dad said as we started making our way to the front.

I nodded in understanding since some wolves do choose chosen's over their mate. Its rare when they do choose someone as their mate so its quite surprising the king chose a chosen instead of waiting for his destined. Im not saying I agree with wolves choosing people that aren't their mates because I can just imagine the impact it would have on their real mates.

Suddenly I stopped and looked around as an alluring scent filled the air. I flared my nostrils wanting more of the smell. 

"Do you smell that?" I asked Avril as she looked at me weirdly. 

She sniffed the air mimicking my actions before she looked at me shaking her head. 

"I can't smell anything. There is a faint scent in the air but I can't grasp it."

I frowned and shook off the weird feeling erupting inside of me. 

"Alpha Ezra, Beta Benjamin its good to see you." 

I looked up to see Darius come out of the house shaking hands with my father while they talked. He was built and held a carefree persona around him. His blonde hair shone in the sun creating a halo around his head, mirroring his personality. He is the Alpha kings cousin, probably the only royal I've met in my lifetime.  

I nodded my head in acknowledgment when he broke away from the group and walked up to me and Avril.  

"Nevaeh and Avril the troublesome two. What a pleasant surprise." 

"The pleasure is all mine," I said in greeting bowing my head.

"Pleasure my ass," Avril whispered when she bowed with me. 

I snickered with my head still bowed till he grabbed us by the shoulders. 

"No need for pleasantries you idiots. Don't act like you don't know me," he laughed as he pulled us both in for hugs. 

I chuckled and pulled away as I stared at the house before us. 

"So are you going to invite us in or are we having the meeting here in the front yard," I said with a  raised brow. 

"Straight to business as always," he said with a grin before gesturing us to follow him.

I closed my eyes as the scent hit me full force when we entered the house. It was everywhere.

I clenched my teeth and took a deep breath calming my wolf who was getting antsy.

"You have got to be kidding me, why do you have to play up now. Simmer down Athena," I growled out in my head to my wolf. 

I jumped at the sudden touch on my shoulder and opened my eyes revealing a worried looking  Avril. 

"Is everything okay?"

"Yea everything's fine," I said as I cleared my throat.

We made our way to the west wing where the Alpha kings office was located and I tensed. This better not be what I think it is. The smell was strongest here which made me want to rip the door open and see who was inside. 

"Darius," I said through clenched teeth.

My father looked at me with a raised brow wondering why I used that tone with him but I shook my head in response.

"Before we go in, who else is in the office?"

"Alpha Axel, Delilah and Pack Warrior Alejandro."

I visibly relaxed at the mention of someone else's name and gestured to Darius that I'm ok to go in now. I looked at Avril and frowned at her tense figure.

"Avril you okay?" I asked.

She looked as if she had seen a ghost. She shook her head whispering 'no' before she turned to Darius and grabbed his arm halting his movements. 

"Im not feeling well. Can you take me to my room?" she pleaded.

"Go after the meeting Avril. It won't be long," her dad said as he looked at her curiously.

"But..."

Suddenly the door to the office opened and there stood someone I had never seen before. He was Gorgeous. His brown hair fell carelessly on his forehead while his hazel eyes scanned our faces. His tanned skin complimented his striking eyes.

I looked at Avril as she screamed and ran down the hall.

"Avril!" Beta Benjamin called watching his daughter run down the hall. 

The random guy was about to chase after her till the voice inside the office stopped him in his tracks.

"Alejandro, whats taking them so long."

I closed my eyes enjoying the sensation his voice did to my body. My body hummed in response as if reacting to the tremors his voice gave out. He stepped aside and gestured for us to enter the office while his gaze stayed glued to the area Avril took off in. 

As soon as my gaze made contact with the man standing behind the mahogany desk, I basked my wolf in halting her excitement. 

This cannot be happening.

I could hear my wolf getting excited about seeing her mate but I reigned her in as best as I could. What helped me keep my wolf at bay was the red head standing next to him. My anger as well as the pain brewing within  put a stop to my wolf's excitement. 

She must be Delilah. 

My face remained neutral as the Alpha King held my gaze. 

He walked around the desk slowly as if waiting for me to run. Why is he coming closer? His light brown eyes penetrated my own making me want to go to him.

I cleared my throat and looked at my dad who was looking at me curiously before looking back at the man of the hour. 

"Alpha Axel, Didn't you have something to talk about with my father?"

Alpha Axel stopped and tilted his head as if trying to get a read on me. I looked at the red head behind the desk and bowed. 

"Queen Delilah, its nice to meet you. I am Nevaeh Allias."

She offered me a kind smile before speaking.

"Nice to meet you Nevaeh. I hope you seek comfort in our home, please do make yourself comfortable."

I smiled at her hospitality and nodded my head, "Well it is good to see you both. I would love to stay and talk with you all but I must go check on Beta Avril."

Alejandro visibly tensed at the mention of her name confirming my suspicion. Their mates. 

As I turned around to leave I was stopped.

"Nevaeh."

I listened waiting for him to say anything else, but when he didn't I turned around with a raised brow.

"Yes?"

He looked at me a moment longer before clearing his throat. I couldn't help but admire his muscled physique and his strong jawline as he watched me. The raise of his eyebrow and slight tug at the corner of his mouth told me he knew I was checking him out. I shook my head scolding myself for looking at him. 

"I will fetch someone for you once our meeting has concluded."

Without a reply I met his gaze and shook my head before turning on my heel and walking out of the room with one thought on my mind. 

I cannot be alone with that man.
