Saturday morning, I was met with a really weird feeling. I was excited for the ball but this was a feeling I have never had before. I guess we'll have to see as the day goes on. I was skipping training today as I needed to get some pack business done before everyone starts arriving. We should be having over 50 guests for the festivities later.

I sat in my office staring at my laptop, looking at contractors to make a start on the new gym that I want to get built. Although we are werewolves and don't feel the cold, having a gym and an indoor training area will make the winter months more tolerable when the snow and ice arrives.

After arranging a meeting with several contractors, I went and grabbed some lunch. Mrs Hobbs was there when I walked in, giving me a smile as always. "Hello my dear" she said as she hugged me tight. "Hi Mrs Hobbs. I meant to ask you yesterday but I was so busy. How would you like to join us for the Ball tonight? I have dresses upstairs for you to pick from and you're the closest thing I have to a mother so I would really like it if you would join us?" I asked her. She looked at me with all the love that a mother could and as a tear rolled down her face, she grabbed me in for another hug "I would love to Harper, thank you so much for thinking of me!" She sobbed at me. "Oh Mrs Hobbs, you know you mean the world to me!" She pulled away and smiled at me "I know my dear, I know, and you do to me too" I honestly do Love this woman.

After my lunch I said goodbye to some pack members and Mrs Hobbs and I walked up to the spare room where the dresses and masks were being kept. We looked through about 5 before Mrs Hobbs found the most perfect dress for herself. I knew exactly what mask would go with it, so I grabbed it and showed her. Her face lit up with gratitude. "Now, Mrs Hobbs, go get yourself ready, I'll send Margo in to do you hair. Maxine is doing mine." With that, she went to her room and I mind linked the twins, Margo and Maxine that Mrs Hobbs and I would be ready for them in about an hour.

I went to my room and got in the shower, letting the water flow over my skin, washing away all pack related business for the time being. It was really nice to de-stress and be in my own space again. As relaxed as I was, I still had that weird feeling.

After my shower, I put on my underwear for the evening and my robe. I mind linked the preparation staff to see how the decorations were coming along and the kitchen staff to check on the caterers. All replies were positive, and I sighed in relief, knowing that everything was going according to plan.

As I sat there at my dressing table looking at myself in the mirror, there was a knock at the door. "Come in" I said. The door opened to Maxine wheeling in her rather large vanity case. Looks like I'm in for the full treatment. I say to myself, smiling at Maxine as she gleams at me. "Ready for me Alpha?" she asked, almost singing to me. "Ready when you are Max" I reply. She jumps up clapping and rushes over to me. "What colour is your dress?" she asks. "Emerald Green" I reply with a smirk on my face. Emerald Pack - Emerald green dress. Why not right?

She claps again as she walks over to her vanity case, unlocking it, and gets out all of her supplies. I take a deep breath and release as I try to calm myself for a pamper session that I was not used to.

"Lets get started!" Said Maxine with a smile from ear to ear on her face.

THE BALL

I could hear the Grand hall was a buzz of conversation and laughter as I reached the balcony above everyone. The Grand stairs sitting in the middle, covered in gold and maroon drapes, candles were alight all over the hall and the same coloured drapes hung at the walls. At the far end of the hall were tables with candles and flowers and fine place settings that screamed elegance. I looked over the crowd smiling, Suddenly all eyes were on me and the bustle quietened down. "Good evening everyone, Welcome to the Emerald pack Summer Solstice Masked Ball!" Everyone cheered and clapped and I descended the stairs being careful not to trip on my dress. My dress, Oh how I love this dress. It's the most elegant dress I have ever worn in my life. It's a strapless and backless dress that flows out from my hips. Every edge of the dress is encrusted with diamonds and emeralds and there is a slit on the side that reaches my mid thigh. Its sways perfectly as I walk, revealing my silver, diamond encrusted strapped heels to complete the look. My hair has been curled and pinned so it cascades down my right side leaving my back exposed. Max did very simple yet elegant makeup. I didn't want the focus taken away from my dress. The only pop of colour on my face was my red lipstick, it made my emerald green eyes pop and I was so happy with the look.

I greeted all our guests with hand shakes and polite conversation as the room went back to its prior hustle and bustle. I grabbed a glass of Champaign from the server closest to me and took a sip as I looked around the room. Music started and couples started to dance, I turned to speak to the group behind me when a strong hand took mine and I went crashing into a very hard chest. I felt a hand slip around my waist as I looked up into the most amazing eyes I have ever seen in my life. One Blue, and one almost Brown with a touch of blue. They stared at me as he moved with a gracefulness I could only dream of having.

That weird feeling I've had all day, magnified, ALOT. I felt a little dizzy as he spun me out, only to bring me back into his chest again. He moved his hand to my back that was showing bare skin. His fingers stroking my spine and a small low growl left his throat. I looked up to him, his eyes sparkled as he looked into mine. He bent his head slightly to my ear "I could marry those eyes" he whispered. My breathing stopped. Who was this guy?!?. The weird feeling spiked again and I made my excuse to leave his embrace. I walked as fast as my heels could take me to the bathroom. Meg came in behind me. "Who was that?" she asked. *I have no idea Meg but I don't feel well at all* *I'll get you some water sweetie* and with that she left. I was washing my hands when the door opened, closed and locked. " Thanks Meg" I said. That's when I felt two hands on my shoulders. Looking into the mirror, I saw those eyes staring back at me. I couldn't move. He moved his lips to my ear letting his warm breath flow to my neck. My body shivered and I felt like I was going to faint. "I've never seen eyes like yours before, nor have I smelt such sweet arousal before" he whispers in my ear. Every ounce of energy I had, drained from my body completely. He bends and kisses my neck."Perfect" he says and I feel my entire body relax into his, like a magnetic pull. His hand stroked my neck and I closed my eyes feeling myself melt further into his hold. His lips followed his hand, trailing kisses. The air in the room shifted and I opened my eyes. He was gone.

Megs walks in again "Harp, Whats wrong?" she asks. I cant breath. I look into her eyes gasping for air. She grabs the chair and makes me sit. "Harper, breath, in and out!" She removes my mask for me. "Harper!" I cant get air into my lungs at all. "Don't hate me" she says and she slaps me across the face. The air gets sucked into my lungs, finally able to get breaths into me. She watches me, wide eyed as I calm my breathing.

I explained about the guy on the dance floor and what happened and how I felt. She was speechless. I looked at her "I think I need a strong drink" I sigh as I stand up, putting my mask back on and leaving the bathroom. I take a Jamesons from the server and knock it back, enjoying the strong taste warming my throat as it glides down. I sigh again feeling like myself again.

"DAAAAAAAAADDYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!" a scream shakes the room making everyone gasp and look around. My wolf rips through me as a run outside in the direction of the scream. Seeing a red eyed mutt standing over a child, I pounce and land, shoving the Rouge and knocking him 6 feet into air. I stand over the child as my 6 foot Alpha wolf gets ready to pounce at it again "DAAAAADDYYYYY!!!!" the boy screams. I pounce at the Rogue grabbing its neck before it could react, throwing it from my jaw as its neck crunched and it landed in the pond. I ran back over to the child as a huge Black wolf leaps at me growling. My green eyes darken with a warning to leave the child alone and I growl, standing back over the boy. "Daddy a Rogue was going to kill me" The black wolf spun round and as his eyes met mine, I froze. One Blue, One Brown eye stared at me. I felt dizzy again and shook my head to clear the feeling. The boy scrambled up and climbed onto the wolfs back. He looked at me again and bolted into the forest beyond the pond.

I shifted back as a blanket came round my shoulders. What the f**k is going on!?!?!
