Her body was tense, as if she were heading to her doom. Yet, the man made no further move. He changed into sleepwear, lay beside her, and wrapped his arms around her, drawing her into his embrace. Aurora's spine stiffened. The air was filled with a faint pine scent. The pillow carried his cool, masculine aura. Combined with the warmth from behind, she felt completely enveloped in his presence—like a caged bird, surrounded and trapped. Fortunately, Timothy Hart kept his promise. Though being held like this felt strange, he made no further advances. She was utterly exhausted. Initially, she tried to stay awake, but as the steady rhythm of his breathing reached her ears, her eyelids grew heavier. Before long, she slipped into a deep slumber.
