BLAKELY'S POV:
I watched the massive wolf approaching. Scorpio. He was truly a sight to behold. As the black wolf snarled at those surrounding us, they seemed to take the hint and run. Something in me made me wonder why they chose flight rather than to stay and fight. He was only one wolf. His massive size screamed alpha energy...but there were five wolves. Surely they could have taken him.
That is when, as if on cue, two wolves came from the shadows to stand by their alpha. I had never seen a wolf in person, and part of me was glad for that. I could only imagine how easy it would be to tear me apart. As the threats had left us be my mind focused back to Silas' injury. I touched his shoulder gently as the wolves changed back into their human form.
My face got red as I saw three naked men standing before us in the corner of my eye. I kept my eyes on Silas and the ground, god I know I probably looked like a child.
As I stare at the ground I hear a burst of small laughter. "Well, I'll be damned. A vampire hasn't set foot here since the late King Adrien. What do you need, Silas? Something tells me it isn't good." Scorpio spoke breaking the silence. "Wait until dad hears I saved the great vampire king from a few rogues." He sneered.
"Scorpio. You look well. Yes, I am in your debt. You and your boys arrived just in time I suppose." Silas said watching his every move. "This is my future queen and my fiance, Blakely."
Scorpio smiled kindly. "Nice to meet you, princess. To my right is my Beta, Dakota. To my left is my Gamma, Ryder. Boys, the girl looks innocently awkward. Fetch the robes I dropped nearby."
They both nodded quickly and went to do as he said. Silas smiled warmly and wrapped his hand around mine. He seemed to have winced with the movement. Typically vampires were quick healers, but I am not sure when the last time he tasted blood was. He never had in front of me, so considering that factor, that would stunt his healing process. He may need some in order to fix the damage.
Before I knew it the boys had brought the robes to wrap themselves with. I looked up from the ground shyly as they all stared at us. Scorpio smiled as he approached me. "So, what did this bat do to catch something like you?" He smiled playfully.
"Watch it Scorpio," Silas warned.
Scorpio rose his hands in mock surrender. "Okay, I can take a hint. What brings you anyway? I haven't seen you around my territory since we were kids."
Silas smiles and laughs at the memory. "Yea, it has been too long. I came to see Leo. How is the old wolf?"
Scorpio laughs at the remark. "A pain in my ass. Come on, I will escort you. Have your drive pull the car across the bridge. Rogues know better than to cross it, so he will be safe there. I will take you and Blakely to see my dear old dad. Rider, stay behind with him just in case a rogue gets brave enough." Ryder nodded and climbed in the passenger seat of the car as Aleron took his place and started the engine.
The car moved around us as it pulled across the bridge and parked nearby. Scorpio smiled as he spoke again. "Well, no sense of staying here. Let's go see the old man." He turned and began to walk across.
The castle wasn't too far from the bridge so it was already coming into view as we walked across. Dakota stayed behind us, I am assuming so he could ensure we were safe. As we walked, I began to notice Silas grew uneasy. I couldn't help but sense his worry. Something was wrong.
"Babygirl. There are a few things I need to tell you before meeting Leo." He paused as if he was searching desperately for the right words.
"Oh spit it out already." Scorpio laughed mocking him a bit.
Silas pushed him playfully. "Shut up and mind your business." He hissed.
He laughed. "Silas has never had a way with words."
I looked at Silas anxiously. "Silas, you can tell me anything. What is wrong?"
He sighed. "It is no secret that your father is despised among every supernatural kingdom in existence. And in turn, all people of Eudaimonia are hated as well." He watched me with a worried expression. "Now, a lot of people understand that the people of Eudaimonia can not control who their king is, but there are some who see your people as atrocities for allowing his reign to continue."
I looked up at him confused as to what this had to do with me or King Leo. That is when Scorpio decided to weigh in on the conversation. "What your man is trying to say is my family is divided when it comes to you. Some despise you and loath you just for simply existing. Just because of his blood courses through your veins. The other half love you because from what we heard, you are not like him. You can not control who your father was. We have sympathy for you just being raised by him."
I nodded trying to process what he was saying. SO half of the royals in this kingdom alone already hate me. How? They do not even know me. I felt Silas' hand wrap around mine gently. "No harm will come to you. They will learn to understand that you are not Everett. It will just take some time my love. I just didn't want you to walk in blind."
I nodded as Scorpio looked back at me as we arrived at the castle. "Let whatever they say go in one ear and out the other. It doesn't seem that all of my siblings are here. I sense about six of them. So it seems you will meet half of them now, and half later." He said preparing me as we walked into the castle.
I could feel all eyes on us. Everyone stopped their work as whispers echoed through the halls. I kept my eyes focused ahead as we rounded the corner and Scorpio walked us into the throne room. All conversation stopped as everyone in the room turned to stare at the intruders.
The king's eyes light up like a child on Christmas morning. "Well, do my eyes deceive me? Little Si is that you?" King Leo smiles rushing over and wrapping Silas in a bear hug.
Silas hugs him back. "It has been too long Leo."
"Yes, it has, my boy." His eye immediately turns to me. "Who is this gorgeous creature?"
I blush at his comment. "My name is Blakely, sir. It is a pleasure to finally meet the great Alpha King."
He smiles and takes my hand in his. "The pleasure is all mine, my dear."
--------SILAS' POV:
I watch Leo's exchange with Blakely closely and then I turn my attention to the six of his children staring at us. They all recognized her name pretty easily it seemed. I watched closely as an array of emotions crossed each face. Faces that I knew well. Aries, both Gemini twins, Libra, Capricorn, and Aquarius. Half of them seemed excited...and some seemed angered. Just as I had feared.
"Yes," I smiled at Leo warmly. "Blakely is my fiance and my future queen." I mainly said that so that they understood her place before disrespecting my bride.
"Of course. And what a beautiful bride to be she is." Leo smiled kissing her hand. He quickly turned to face the six standing close to his throne. "Come now, children. Don't be so rude to our guests. Step forward and introduce yourself." He said motioning for them.
Aries was the first to step forward. "I am Aries, the firstborn daughter of Lycansbane and the first heir to the throne. Need it to be said that you are unwelcome here, daughter of Eudaimonia." She sneered as she eyed Blakely closely. I moved to step in front of her protectively as her hand wrapped around mine. She nodded in silent understanding.
The Gemini twins stepped forward eagerly and giggled. "I am Castor, the second-born son of Lycansbane and third heir to the throne." He said smiling widely.
His sister joined him at his side as they joined hands. "I am Pollux, the second-born daughter of Lycansbane and the fourth heir to the throne."
"Princess Blakely, we are happy to meet you and welcome you to our home!" They said in unison. Her smile grew wide as she realized that they weren't all bad.
Libra stepped forward quickly looking at Blakely and sizing her up. "My name is Libra. I am the fourth born daughter of Lycansbane and the seventh heir to the throne. I will neither welcome nor shun you. But must you be warned, hurt my family or King Silas and I will tear you down." She said, keeping the balance as always.
Capricorn stepped up looking more displeased than most. She scoffed as she began to speak. "If you must know, my name is Capricorn. I am the fifth born daughter of Lycansbane and the tenth heir to the throne. I would much rather not know of your existence, let alone be in your presence. Princess." She hissed. I continued to watch Blakely's unwavering smile. She looked conflicted behind her eyes, yet refused to let it show.
Aquarius stepped forward just as displeased as her sisters before her. "My name is Aquarius. I am the sixth born daughter of Lycansbane and the eleventh heir to the throne. If you really need to know my opinion of you, I would much rather your whole country be pushed into the ocean. But you know. We can't all have our way." She rolled her eyes.
Blakely did nothing but bow courteously. "It is such a pleasure to meet all of you. I am honored to have had the opportunity." God, she was so f*****g perfect. After everything that they said to her, she was still so kind and polite to them.
"Forgive my ungrateful and pompous brats. Alpha-hood has made them conceited." Leo offered his sincerest apologies to her. Something tells me had she not been my company, he would not be so kind.
Aries scoffed and rolled her eyes as she stepped back. Leo shot her a warning glance as Blakely began to speak. "It is okay. I understand their actions. If I were in their shoes I can't honestly say they I would act any differently." God, did I mention how f*****g perfect she is?
Leo smiled. "You are so kind. So tell me little Si, what brings you all this way? Something tells me it is not just a friendly visit." He took a closer look at me before allowing me to answer him. "And will someone please get little Si a glass of blood. That is a nasty wolf bite he has."
I smile sadly as Pollux brings me a glass of donated blood. If memory served correctly, they had always kept a few of the blood donations they received in case of a friendly vampire like myself or father were to visit. My heart began to race at the request I was about to ask of my old friend. I took a deep breath and counted to three in my head before asking. Scorpio was right. I am horrible with words. "Thank you, love. That is very kind of you. Unfortunately, you are correct, Leo. I have come to talk about a common enemy. One that is knocking on my gates ready for war, and will soon be knocking on yours. It is time Everett falls off of his mighty pedestal."
I anxiously awaited his reply as I drank from the glass slowly, instantly feeling the pain in my shoulder dull just a bit. Leo looked at me curiously. "What are you proposing boy? That we go to war with you?"
Everyone stopped moving as everything around us seemed to fall silent. So silent you could hear every breath in the room. "Yes, Leo. That is exactly what I am asking of you."
