EVERETT'S POV:
"What do you mean you can't find them?" I slammed my hand on the table. "You said you could barely sense any energy left from her when they left here! You said apprehending them would not be an issue! Then where the f**k are they?" I screamed looking at Theodora.
She always wore the same smug look on her face. If she didn't start following through I would watch that smug look disappear as her head rolled across my floor. She smirked as she watched my outburst. "Your highness, I never said it would be EASY to catch them. All I said is they would indeed be caught and die at your feet. I have not proven to be false yet. So please have a little faith." She smiled. It seemed as though my aggravation only amused her more.
I looked at her as my aggravation only grew. "I want them dead now! Where could they have possibly run to? It has been only a few days!" My voice shook the conference room.
"Sir, it is possible, that since they did in fact help Silas unite with Blakely, that he also offered them asylum. In such a case we can not retrieve them yet. Not without starting a war that you are not yet prepared for. As much as I hate to admit it, but an army of humans alone and I are not enough for a whole vampiric army and a coven of witches. We would be annihilated before we even crossed the bridge. Truly you see the reason behind my words?" She smirked as she rose an eyebrow watching me. God, were all advisors this f*****g annoying.
"Then what do you propose, Theodora? What do you say we do to get them back and to make the little King pay for what he did?" I asked leaning back in my chair. Oh, I can not wait to hear this.
Her smile grew wider. Oh f**k. She only smiled like that when she knew I would be pissed at whatever nonsense came out of her mouth. "She sat down across from me carefully. "Well, sire. You need to keep an open mind. Think of it as a temporary matter that can be resolved as quickly as it came to be."
I look at her as my patience wears thin. "Get on with it. I don't want to sit here looking at your damn smug face all day."
She laughed a little. "Okay. As I was saying. Maybe we could find some rogues from Akasha and Ambrogio. f**k it. Let's find some from Lycansbane as well. Rogue wolves are so...destructive."
I looked at her baffled. "Absolutely not. I will not allow some more of those creatures beyond my gates."
She rolled her eyes. "Fine. Then be demolished by the opponent. Or, you can find these rogues and...gee, I don't know...once the war is won we kill them all." She smirked as she stared at me.
I looked at her. She already knew me so well. I laughed a little. "Even if I decided to be so deceitful, how would I even go about getting rogues to join me? Those...things hate me as much as I hate them. No one in their right mind would dare come to me."
She laughed at my acknowledgment. "See, that is the beauty of it. Rogues aren't in their right mind. In fact, most are so blinded with a vengeance that they will do almost anything to achieve it."
I nodded slowly. "Okay. But how would we even find foolish rogues?" I looked at her curiously.
As if on cue, Alcide burst through the door. "My king, it seems we have werewolves that have crossed into our borders. Three of them to be exact."
Theodora's laughter cut through the tension like a knife. "I was actually just about to say, that we make them find you. But it seems some already have."
I rolled my eyes. I could not wait until I could be done with her. "Alright, Alcide. Take some of the boys, and bring the wolves to me. I would like to speak to them." He nodded quickly and left the room without another word.
I turn to Theodora giving her a warning look. "If this goes south, it will be your head rolling across my floor. I am sure there are other witches just as foolish as you that would love a place at my side."
She smirked taking my threat lightly. "Oh, little kingy. Are you always this doubtful?"
God, I would love to wipe that look off her face. I took a steadying breath. Not now. I will get my chance to end her when this is all over. I watched as the door swung open. Behind Alcide, I saw three strongly built men. These must be the wolves he spoke of. "Come on in boys, have a seat." I looked at Alcide and smirked. "Alcide, why don't you leave us be? I am sure if things go wrong Theodora here will handle it." He nodded quickly and shut the door.
I motioned for them to speak as the man who seemingly looked like their leader stepped forward. "King Everett, my name is Makoce. To my right is my third in command Olcan, and to my left is my beta Ty-Ohni." He speaks as they nod in silent greeting.
"Ah yes, of course. Sit down, boys. What can I do for you?" I smiled as they took a seat. "This is a long way to travel from Lycansbane. Truly this is a matter of importance."
He smiled slyly. "Ah yes, it is I can assure you. As you are aware, Alphas like myself can communicate with their packs via the pack link. As you are also aware, wolves that are considered rogues don't have a home in Lycansbane, so I and my two top wolves were just passing through looking for a place to settle in with my pack when I received a message from one of my men still on the outskirts of Lycansbane.
Three of my pack members seem to have had a run-in with King Silas and his future Queen." He said slowly smiling at my peaked interest. "I am sure you know her as your traitorous daughter, Blakely. They were going to kill them on the spot, but it seems the eighth in line for the throne, Alpha Scorpio sopped them and ran them off. It seems the vampires are now under the protection of the so-called Heavenly Alphas of Lycansbane. I thought I would stop by and offer you a proposal if you would." He smiled watching my every move.
"Oh?" I said clenching my fists on the table. "And what is your proposal?"
He smirks. "I thought you would never ask. It isn't anything impossible. I am requesting asylum as well as a packhouse for me and my pack. In return, I will grant you the assistance of The Hallowed Pack in the upcoming battle you face."
