Chapter 5
Ethan decided to change seats because this side of the club, there were too many drunk people, especially girls. Once he changed seats he saw two beautiful ladies entering the club.
They sure knew how to make an entrance.
Every man literally turned from what they were doing and had their eyes on them. Some of the girls in the club looked like they envied them because their looks suddenly changed when they saw them.
One of them really caught Ethan's eye though. She was wearing a beautiful red dress. She was almost 5.7 tall, she had curves for days. What he liked the most about her was her posture, it showed her confidence. He drank down his single malt and ordered another drink, a beer this time.
He sat there and studied her. All he had to do was find her deepest darkest secrets to exploit, use them against her, to get her to marry him.
This was the girl.
He knew that this girl would definitely make his father think twice about taking the company away from him. She looked like an easy target. One to be manipulated, but he didn't want to get way ahead of himself, yet.
On the other hand Ethan felt a slight attraction towards her. She was very attractive. A beautiful woman is a beautiful woman, you can't deny that. The attraction he felt towards her, made him doubt his devious intentions towards her, but he knew he had to get this done because his father was the one that put him in this tight spot. He could've made another ultimatum, but he chose marriage.
Ethan noticed that her friend was having a good time but the girl that he had eyes for wasn't having any fun. She looked like she wanted to leave, for some reason. They drank down their drinks, went to pay for it and they walked out of the club. He left money on the table paying for his drinks then followed them.
They got inside their car and drove off. Ethan started his car too then followed them. Their car parked on the side of the road and the girl in the red dress got off. Her friend got out and went to give her a hug, making sure she was okay then went back into the car and drove off.
Ethan got out of his car and went to knock on the door because the girl was already inside the house.
She heard the knock on the door and thought it was her fiancée, but unfortunately it wasn't, "Brian... is that you baby?" That was the first question Arabella asked when she opened the door.
"I'm sorry. I think I came at a bad time." He said to her because he saw tears in her eyes.
"I'm sorry, but who are you?" Arabella asked Ethan.
She was upset. That's the reason why she came back home from the club. She wanted to have a good time but deep down she misses Brian, that's why she asked Abi to bring her home early. She couldn't stand being at the club anymore.
Anyway Ethan thought Bella would recognize her because he's a well-known man. I mean he's a billionaires son, so almost everyone knew him, but at the back of his mind he was glad that Bella didn't really know him, well specifically his status.
"My name is Ethan Fitzgerald. I came over to talk to you about something. Actually I want to ask you something important." He said to her.
"Look, if you're one of those insurance people then I'm not interested. You really caught me at a bad time, so can you please leave. I really need to be alone right now." Bella plead to him.
I mean who would blame her, she just lost the love of her life.
"Oh no. I'm not selling insurance or anything like that. I actually just need five minutes of your time." He said.
She gave in because she knew that this guy wasn't planning to leave unless she gave him a chance to say what was on his mind.
"Fine. Come on in. It's a little messy, but you can sit right over there on the couch." She said removing her handbag from the couch, placing it on the table and gathered the paper files from work on the side of the table.
"Thanks. I didn't get your name by the way." He said sitting down.
"Uhm.. I'm Bella. Arabella Tanner." She said to him giving him a handshake.
"Well I'm pleased to know you. Look I have a proposition for you." He suggested.
"I'm listening Ethan." She gave him his attention.
"I'm looking for a wife and you seem to be the perfect candidate. I want to marry you." He placed his cards on the table.
Candidate? The perfect candidate? Was this a joke?
Arabella chuckled. That was her first reaction because she thought he was joking, but she saw the serious look on his face.
"Wait.. what?! Are you kidding me? Are you insane? Do you even hear yourself right now?" She got more upset. She couldn't believe what he just said to her.
"Look I know we don't know each other, but just give me a chance to explain the rest of the proposition." He said.
"Get out! I need you to get out of my house right now because what you're suggesting right now, is absurd." She got up from her seat and walked to the door, roughly opening it.
"Arabella please just-" She cut him off.
"I said get out of my house Ryan!" She yelled out.
"It's Ethan!" He corrected her.
"I don't care, just leave or else I'll call the police." She said harshly.
He got up and walked out the door. He couldn't believe that a girl threw her out of her house, because girls always fall flat on their knees when he's in their presence. One thing that Ethan didn't know was that, Arabella was different from all the girls he's been with before.
He left heading back to his car and drove off in speed. He got home with his tail between his legs because he was disappointed that his plan didn't go accordingly. Well, he didn't play his cards right. You don't just invade someone's privacy, especially a stranger and ask for their hand in marriage without getting to know them first or at least find something that'll bind the two of you together so she can say yes to your proposal. He decided to sleep this off after he changed into his night wear.
