VIXEN The full moon hovers high in the night sky. Moonlight shines brightly over the garden. Natalie and an older woman I don't recognize stand in the center, placing candles and lighting them as they go. Asher is pouring salt on the grass, making circles and symbols similar to the ones Maddox drew all over me. He squeezes my hand reassuringly. “Everything is going to be fine,” he whispers and kisses the top of my head. “Yeah…” I say with uncertainty, playing with the buttons of the shirt.
