Chapter 45
MADDOX "Come on man! You gotta keep your s**t together!" Asher yells in my ears. His arms strain to hold me back as I fight against him. "HE'S DEAD!" I lunge forward, dragging my Beta with me. He digs his heels in, bringing us to a halt with less than a foot separating me from my target. Wilder grins smugly up at me, unfazed by the explosive show of rage. My skin starts to itch, bones ache and crack as my body begins to rearrange itself. Teeth elongate. Nails sharpen. Primal instincts infect my mind, slowly seeping into every dark recess like a disease. Common sense ceases to exist, leaving behind only sizzling hot fury. "I’m going to rip you APART" are the last words my human vocal cords form before devolving into snarls and growls. Fur sprouts from every pore across my skin. Asher’
