ZEENIA STEVEN I returned home after a week's stay at the hospital. I was lagging behind in classes. I was aware that my grades had come down from A+ to B. I knew that it was my doing, and I had to blame myself for that. Probably Ian might also be out of the hospital. I knew I was missing him. The handsome vampire was also not visiting me in the hospital, as I used to be heavily medicated. Which probably turned him down. I knew that the vampire, or whosoever that night creature was, would come back as I was now back from the hospital. I was happy in a way, as I could now sleep peacefully at night. I was taking my medicines regularly. After discharge from the hospital, I met a counselor, who finally after having a talk with me about the vampires, suggested two different medications to be taken before bedtime. I slept well after that, as I used to be completely knocked out with the medicines.  My mother used to move around the house, searching for sharp objects, trying to keep them out of my sight, so that I do not harm myself. Whenever I used to go to the shower, she used to keep supervision on me. She would hide all her medications so that I don't misuse them. She would also keep a close watch whenever I stood near a window as if I would jump down and end my life. But I was not like Ian Collin. How could I explain it to her? I just wanted a good night's rest. After coming home, I remembered why I was taken to the hospital in the first place? As I used to sight vampire in my bedroom, one night I went to lie in the bathroom, with my earphones on, listening to my favorite song. To get sound sleep I had also taken lots of pills. I was discovered in that state, by my mother. Thus both my parents had rushed me to the hospital. But the doctors there after hearing from me, that I was seeing vampires, sent me over to a mental care hospital. It was there that I got the sound sleep of my life.  My mother kept on blaming herself for my foolishness. She thought it was her mistake that she had not kept her medicines carefully, due to which I had taken them. I tried explaining to her that it was not her mistake, but it was mine.  Well after two weeks of staying away from school, I felt different and was happy that very soon my school would be over, and my life would change.  It was a dull overcast day, and I was getting dressed for school. My mother drove me to school that day. But the moment I entered school, all eyes were on me. Right from teachers, students, everybody was whispering about me, and discussing what had happened to me. I did not bother and just continued with my classes. I was determined to not run away. By the end of the day, they had stopped discussing me. I had planned my life. As soon as I finish high school, I would shift to either Los Angeles or stay in a rented flat in Canada itself. I would take up an internship there. I would then never have to see these classmates, or this small town anymore.    While I was going from one class to the next, I met Ian Collin. He was looking very changed. he had lost too much weight. He was looking very pale, and deathly. I recognized him and called out his name. He stood still, staring at me with his blue eyes, and then he too recognized me. He said "Oh it is you Zeenia" very warmly. He then said that "I had thought I would never see you again." We then hugged each other happily. People kept on staring at us. I knew that tongues would be wagging, that the school genius was hugging the weirdest boy of the school. But I was not bothered about others. I was happy to see Ian, and thus we had been hugging each other. Ian then asked me if I had any more lectures left. I told him that I was finished for the day. Ian then pulled me, and we then left hand in hand, out of the school campus, to his car parked outside. It had started raining, so he opened his car, and we climbed in. He then said that we would go to a park, where we could talk without disturbance. He then smiled at me. He looked much better, with his perfect smile. It suited him. I stared at his hands, which had razor marks.  I remembered that I had a tracker running on my phone. I informed him that I might as well, keep my tracker off, or my mother would follow us here. He smiled and then said that he would show me something, after finishing jogging.   He told me that, if it rains and gets dark early, he gets someone visiting him at night, on my insistence he said that it was a female vampire, who comes to visit him. She looks exactly like his therapist at the hospital. He then said "I keep telling this to the therapist as well as to my parents. But they don't listen. The therapist though laughs and keeps me in the hospital for another six months. After each stay, I come out paler, thinner than I was before. But I will be eighteen in the next two days, and I will stop going to the therapist. They cannot force me then."   I replied that "It is very strange, Ian. I get a male vampire visiting me at night. I then confided to him, what I had not spoken to anyone before. I told him that I liked him coming to my room. I felt safe with him. He never harmed me. He used to just stand and look at me. But after I have been taking medications, he doesn't come anymore. I have been thinking to stop my medication. Ian stopped abruptly and asked me whether I had become crazy. He reminded me that I was the one, who had suggested taking regular medication, to ward off the vampires. He told me not to do something foolish. He reminded me that we are in this together now. He then halted his car.  I told him that I would finish jogging in a few minutes, and then be back. I asked him if he cared to join? Ian replied, only if I would walk with him, and not jog. He said that because he was losing weight rapidly.  I questioned him whether he was taking complete medications? He replied that he had cut down some medicines, not all. I told him that medicines were the only thing that will stop the vampires. I told him that he should take the full dose. I told him that this was a serious matter, and we have to remind each other that our life is at stake. I told him that I wanted to fall in love someday and to grow old with the man I love. We finished jogging and then went back to the park. We then went to buy Burgers and Coke and went to Ian's place to have food.  Ian's place was a very grand house. The garage was very huge, with three luxury cars in the parking lot. There were two BMW's and one Mercedes. Ian said that he lived in the basement of the mansion. He said that after finishing high school, he was planning to move out of the place and the city. We moved down to his room, after climbing down the stairs. He had a huge room. I told him that his room was as big as my parent's house. But Ian said that he felt very lonely. As his parents were mostly in Europe, coming back, only if Ian developed any problems, or had to be picked up from the hospital. He said that they would be rather more satisfied if he was dead,  and kept on telling him, that you disturb our vacations. They also don't believe me about the female vampire coming to see me at night. They cut my arms and legs, and suck blood. He then showed me the bite marks on both arms and legs. They were noticeable when I saw them.  I told him that my parents, were in fact suffocating me with their love. Hope they too go off someplace. We then ate our burgers, finished our coke. We were relaxed and sat talking. We had a great time. I then asked him to drop me home. That night I had a very deep and peaceful sleep.
