Mara barely gave herself time to gather her things.
She picked up her handbag, checked that she had everything she needed, and hurried out of her office.
The corridors of Reyes Enterprises were almost empty now.
Most of the employees had gone home, while the few who remained were finishing up their work.
Mara walked quickly to the elevator.
“Hi Mara, are you leaving already?"
She turned briefly.
It was one of the company's workers.
“Yes, I am, Desmond.”
As the elevator doors opened, she stepped inside and pressed the button for the ground floor.
Mara glanced at her phone inside the elevator, but there were no new messages, still, she knew she couldn't keep the person waiting.
