My eyes darted over to Jack who was at the bar. He was looking in my direction and muttering but I could hear him as if he was standing next to me. "Ronnie is upstairs waiting for you." I gave a curt nod and looked back at Amora and smiled. "Would you mind if I just popped upstairs for a moment? I won't be long." I gave her my best smile hoping she wouldn't see the anger burning in my eyes at being interrupted. Amora nodded, sensing something was wrong, "Yeah, okay.. I'll be here." I stood up and gave her a small bow and kissed the back of her hand before I headed towards the metal staircase that lead to my office. "Jack send some more drinks to the table please keep Amora down here." Jack nodded and gave a small apologetic look as I stormed upstairs. I yanked open my front door, “What the f**k do you want, Ronnie?” I snapped at her, my face mere inches away from hers. She rolled her eyes "Nice to see you too, friend." She spat and stood up from where she was sitting on my desk. "I thought you'd be interested to know that Collins and his little group have been neutralized. You know the damage control you've had me running around doing for the last few days while you've been spilling our secrets to your human f**k toy. Ironic given how that's why I was sent to kill Collins in the first place." I growled softly at the words 'f**k toy'. "Don't you f*****g call her that." I growled darkly at her. "I don't understand what makes her so different from the others. I have watched you flirt with them and kill them after a few weeks. But this girl you didn't kill her. Instead, you showed her mercy. Do you really think in the long run that it's going to work out between you? What good does it do to let one of them know about us?" She walked over to the small window that overlooked the bar from the apartment and stared at the booth where Amora sat waiting, "I'm actually surprised she's still alive after the number you did on her last month. What did you tell her anyway?" "I told her a story about the blood moon affecting me and causing me to go crazy." I said through gritted teeth. "Not that I owe you an explanation." Ronnie laughed. "And she believed that? Maybe she isn't as smart as I thought after all. All humans are dumb though. None of them deserve this life on earth. So fragile. All it'll take is a small accident and she will be gone." I gripped her arm, "Hurt her and I'll rip your throat out." I eyed Amora, "She's ... different, okay? Leave her alone." "Trust me I have no intention of touching one of them unless it's to eat." She flashed her sharp fangs in a unnatural smile and her eyes turned red. "I'll leave you to your little plaything. I'm suddenly parched." She strode past and over to the main window her red hair swaying in a high ponytail. "Tell Jack I'll see him tonight." She jumped effortlessly out the window and sped away laughing as soon as she hit the ground. “Tell him yourself.” I muttered softly as fixed my suit jacket and walked back down to the bar. Jack looked away as I came down the stairs. "I'm sorry Boss." I heard him mutter. "Not your fault your wife is a b***h Jack. I feel bad for you." I chuckled. "No comment." He replied but I saw him smile a bit before going back to serving customers.
