I quickly grabbed some clothes from the drawers and threw them on. I checked the window to make sure it was fully secured and looked over at Amora asleep on the bed. I didn't want to leave her after what happened but if I don't feed soon I'll end up hurting her a lot more than I already have and there's no coming back from that. I picked up the keys and taking one last look shut the door to the loft and locked it. I headed down the metal steps to the bar that was over crowded with customers. Many of the vampires looked over at me with smirks on their faces and some raised their glasses to me. They could all hear what was going on upstairs then. I paid them no attention and walked over to Jack who was serving a group of obnoxious humans. He looked up as I approached abd I saw him blush a bit. "Good evening Sir. Are you alone or..." I held up my hand to stop him and he cleared his throat and ran a hand through his hair. "Save it Jack I know you heard. Look I'm going out cause I'm starving. Amora is asleep upstairs. Keep a close eye on her. I want guards stationed at the window outside immediately and no one is to go upstairs." I dropped my voice so only he could hear me. "Understood Sir." Jack nodded towards 4 armed guards standing by the front door. 2 of them left and walked round back to the alley to stand under the window while the other 2 went and stood at the bottom of the staircase. I still didn't feel good about leaving her but I had to. Without another word and before I could change my mind I sprinted out the bar at full speed and prepared to hunt. After an hour and 3 empty bodies I sat on the edge of a building looking over the lake. I usually dump the bodies in their where the police can't find them and right now I was chilling in the night breeze waiting for my clothes to dry. The sun hadn't long set and people bustled below me on their way home. I watched them scurrying about like ants beneath me. Now that I had fed and my mind was working properly I thought back to Amora. I knew she was safe but something didn't make sense about her. How can a mortal like her be so irresistible to me? When I first started following her it was because I wanted some fun out of a meal like I do from time to time. Yet when it came to draining her I couldn't finish the job. Not only that but I let her go. She could have ruined everything. Revealed our secret and alerted hunters of us. All because I couldn't finish a job I've done thousands of times over the centuries. I was so lost in thought that at first I didn't notice that I was staring at a group of people below me. I didn't notice when the group walked away but one stayed behind. I didn't notice that one was staring back up at me. How could one mortal make me so reckless and stupid? I thought as I glanced down at the street. Then it dawned on me. Someone was watching me. Instantly I was alert and looked properly at the woman left behind. No, she can’t be…. I saw her die as a human. I saw her get buried. I stood up and jumped down hoping to get a better look but as soon as my gaze broke away she was gone. "Thats impossible..." I said aloud to myself. How is she here? I pulked my phone out of my trousers and hit speed dial. I called the only other person that knew of her. Ronnie picked up at the 3rd ring, “Yeah?” She asked me. “Is Freya alive?”
