That was the first time that I’d ever left the castle. Father told me not to tell anyone where I went. If they saw me leave, I had to tell them I was serving Domina, as she had to go on a trip. Hugo and Sophia were riding along with us to do Domina’s bidding. Domina started speaking. I tuned in on the conversation.
“Hugo, which slave boys would be worthy enough for the royal slave position? I want four boys. It doesn’t matter about age.”
Hugo looked to be deep in thought before he rattled off names. “Jake was with Cole and me when we did that test for you.”
