“Hugo,” Sophia said in tears. She continued, “Yes. I will marry you.”
I slipped the ring onto her finger, picked her up, and spun her around in my arms. The entire pack was in an uproar. Some shifted into their beasts and howled. It was her moment. I placed her down, and she ran to her father, hugged him, and then ran back to me. I would be proud if I were her father and she were my pup. Beta Darius’s face said it all. Sophia ran over to her mother. They were both in tears. I scratched my head and sauntered toward Beta Darius. “May…may we walk and speak in private?” I asked, as I stuttered.
