She was trying to read a book; a new one Esme had gotten her last Friday and now was the only time she had had time to get her hands on it. But she couldn't really consecrate on it. Her mind wasn't cooperating with her body, it had escaped her body to find a new adventure - one she knew better than to follow. She was thinking about her and her family going after Victoria in a few hours. The redheaded female has been running around Forks trying to find a way to enter for a while now. She wanted to get her hands on Bella, to get revenge on Edward, her adoptive brother, for he had killed her mate to protect his. But so many thoughts run through her head and she wasn’t so sure what to believe; what if they didn't catch her? Her brother had already left with his mate but she wasn't complaining about him not being for their hunt. They all knew how much Edward cared about Isabella Swan – she couldn’t say she was a fan but she didn’t want the poor girl to die! She let out a sigh when she heard Alice call for the family. Her sister had been gifted with foresight – which if you ask her, she found really cool and mysterious. She put the book down, not forgetting to put the bookmark to continue reading it later when she would return home to mope around before she went to school. Oh, how she didn’t like going there. She walked downstairs, looking at the ice-cold floor. She reached the living room in seconds even without her vampire speed where the rest of the family was waiting. Carlisle and Esme smiled at their adoptive daughter before putting all their focus to the task in hand. "It's almost time. Let's go" she ordered and left the house in a matter of seconds. When Alice would get visions like this, she would be really focused and in charge and Cassandra wasn’t sure she liked that change on her sister. She had gotten used seeing her with a smile always on her and seeing her like that, with that stoic and emotionless face creeped her a bit out. The family soon followed her lead. They stopped somewhere deep inside the woods, all very close to each other as they waited for Alice's signal. She felt a presence behind her and turned to see Jasper, Alice’s mate, placing a hand on her shoulder to soothe her anxious body. She wasn’t going to lie, she feared what was going to happen in a few minutes. Victoria wasn’t just someone, she was a nomad and she was really strong. She feared her family getting hurt, she really didn’t want that to happen. She gave him a nod and started counting until one hundred to ease her anxiety and when she reached that number she started again. It was a thing she did when she was nervous. Jasper soon left and by his mate to keep her company. Ninety-six. She looked around the forest trying to find anything to detract herself. She noticed Emmett acting like a monkey, hanging from a large branch a few feet away with his mate, Rosalie, standing under it with a small smile on her face. Cassandra could tell she was amused by his antics even though she was trying to keep a straight face. Ninety-seven. An owl sat at a tree to her left, looking straight at her. It didn't take its eyes off of her. It looked beautiful with its brown feathers and its large eyes. She couldn’t take her eyes off it too. Ninety-eight. Esme poked her side to gain her attention and she gave her a smile to which she returned with her own. She placed her head on her mother’s shoulder after pushing away her ginger hair. Ninety-nine. With her supernatural hearing, she could hear every animal, every leaf that was falling. This fascinated her, all the sounds she could hear, all the smells she could smell and everything her heightened sight helped her see. It was amazing. "Are you sure, this is where you saw her?" Carlisle asked, looking around. Alice stayed focused on her vision before replying to her adoptive father. "She is almost here". One hundred. It happened so fast that she would have missed it had it not been for her heightened hearing ability, "On your left" Alice grimaced and every family member took off. She watched as Emmett and Jasper run past her with Alice following close behind. She ran as fast as she could, with Esme on her side, her eyes open to all movements that would happen around her. She needed to make sure she would be found; she couldn’t let her ran past her. They reached the treaty line but that didn’t stop her, she ran alongside it and caught a flash of red hair as Victoria jumped towards the other side. She cursed but thankfully, the Quileute Pack appeared to catch her and stop her. There were at least five wolves, maybe, even more, running in the shadows. She wouldn’t know, she never met them. The treaty kept them from doing so. They tried to catch Victoria with their teeth but she was a lot faster. She jumped to their side and took off. She tried to snatch Victoria but she quickly jumped on a tree. Cassandra cursed again, the boys running past her to catch the redhead and she pushed herself to run faster in order to aid them. She saw Victoria jump to the wolves' side and three of the wolves running after her. She heard her family running after them, not being far. They had to make sure she wouldn’t escape. She almost stopped running at the sight that greeted her. "Emmett, no!" the words flew out of her mouth and before she could stop herself, Cassandra took off running. She made it just in time to see Emmett jump to the wolves' side. A silver wolf appeared out of nowhere and pushed Emmett off their land. Oh no, he looks pissed. She thought as she gave her a hand to pull him up towards their side. Emmett shook in anger as the silver wolf growled. Everyone looked horrified but didn't notice Victoria leave, wearing a big smirk on her face. “Emmett, come on!” Her brother grabbed her hand and without her assistance pulled himself up. She looked over to the wolves to make sure they weren’t trying anything and raised an eyebrow when she noticed them looking at her with different expressions. She shrugged her shoulders when she locked eyes with one of them. His pupils dilated, his heartbeat picked up and she stopped, wondering what the hell was going on. Emmett pulled her with him before she could talk to him. Carlisle wanted them to head back home so that he could discuss things over with Sam, the wolves’ Alpha. But for whatever reason, she couldn’t help herself from turning her head to meet the eyes of that brown wolf once again. Are you okay? Her eyes asked. He took off running with no answer.
