Nicole had never had so many ups and downs in such a short period as she’d been experiencing in the past few weeks. Was life ever going to be normal again? What was normal for her, anyway?
Things at the ranch had just been starting to get really pleasant. She had settled into a nice routine, even began to enjoy spending time with Velinda. Some days she found time to spend a few minutes here and there with Gittie and Max, and some of the guests were really funny. As out of place as she had felt initially, Nicole found herself adapting rather well to this new life.
