I look at her, exhausted and say with sarcasm, "Great. You have a plan that requires me. I'd love to be a part of it."
She gently puts her hand on my lower arm and says, "Look, I heard about what your father did. It was cruel and horrible and I understand why it has you so devastated, but there are bigger things at stake here. I know you know that, and I know that the need to fight for what's right is still inside you. You wouldn't be the Gamma of the Imperial pack if you didn't feel a fierce need to protect it."
I walk back over to my bed and collapse onto it and say, "I'm sorry, but I just don't have the energy for it anymore. All I want to do is sleep for the next week, and after that, who knows. I don't really care."
