Adrian POV
After finally falling asleep I felt the little buzzing in my head that signals that I’m being summoned to someone’s dreams and for a moment I thought that it will be Jennifer which will only be a disaster. After the initial fogginess disappeared I saw my father’s silhouette form before me and I was left speechless. I haven’t seen him in centuries even though we have spoken a few times. “Stop staring at me like I’m some statue Adrian.” “I apologize father. I meant no disrespect.” I walked closer to him and his features became clearer. I looked exactly like him with the only exception being our eye colour. Mine were green while his was a vibrant blue. “Will you stop being so formal Adrian?” He then embraced me in a big hug, something that he has only done about five times in my whole existence. Being a deity he rarely showed me any affection but he was still my father. I hugged him back. “This is a nice surprise Dad, but I have a feeling that you are here for a reason,” I told him thoughtfully. “You are quite right son. I have summoned you to my dreams for a reason. I’ve spoken to some of the other gods and there may be a way for you to break your curse.”
I could not believe it. “Why are you only telling me now? After I’ve lived like this for so long, you just decided NOW to tell me?!” I couldn’t help my outburst. I was angry with him for keeping this information from me for so long. “Watch your tone with me boy! I may be your father but I will not be disrespected by you!” My father’s booming voice pulled me from my own thoughts. “I… I am sorry father. I meant no disrespect to you. I just don’t understand how you could have kept something so important from me for so long.” I tried to stay calm while talking.
Morpheus took a deep breath and rubbed his hand over his face trying to calm his own emotions. “Time works differently on Olympus and you know that. A few days for us will be a few hundred years on earth. And any curse the Fates hand out must be handled delicately. They do not like it when someone wants information on how to break their curses.” What he said made some sense but I cannot help feeling betrayed. “So how does it work? I mean, what should I do to be free of this situation?” I asked with hope in my voice.
Morpheus sighed before he spoke again. “If I give you all the details now, it might not work out but trust in me son, I do not want to see you suffer anymore.” Wait, what? “Dad, you are telling me that there’s a way out of this but now you won’t give me any details? Why can’t you just tell me?” “There’s some things that I do not want to interfere with but as soon as you are ready I will tell you. This I promise you.”
With those last words, my father disappeared from my view, leaving me to wake up by the sound of the alarm. I pressed the button to switch it off and got out of bed to go make coffee. I need very strong coffee. That was one of the strangest experiences of my life. Why my father was being so hella cryptic I have no idea and I just hope that his intentions are pure.

Jenna POV
I was awaken by the delicious smell of freshly brewed coffee and as soon as my eyes opened, I realised that I’m still in Adrian’s apartment. I felt so relieved that I did not get a hangover from last nights’ festivities but I think Hannah wasn’t that fortunate. I sent her a quick text just to make sure she was surviving. She replied that she is never drinking again, which only made me chuckle. Satisfied that Hannah is okay, I made my way to Adrian’s kitchen for a cup of that delicious smelling brew.
Adrian POV
“Good morning, the coffee you’re brewing smells divine.” Jennifer’s voice came from behind me and pulled me out of thoughts. I turned around to say good morning to her but her only wearing the t-shirt I gave her last night distracted me. It ended just above her knees and she looked so sweet and innocent then I remembered, she was actually still a virgin so innocence is appropriate. My eyes trailed up her body and when they landed on her breasts, I could see that her body reacted to me without me even touching her as her n*****s started to harden underneath the thin material of the shirt. She must have caught me staring because she crossed her arms over her chest to hide those delicious peaks from my sight. I looked up to her eyebrow-raised face and gave her my most innocent smile. “Good morning to you too. Did you sleep well?” “Don’t act all innocent Mr. Black. I know what you were doing just now, and yes, I did sleep quite well thank you,” she said in an almost irritated tone.
“Can I offer you some coffee before I get started on breakfast?” “The coffee will be great thank you but you do not have to bother making breakfast.” “I insist on the breakfast. You are a guest in my house, and no guest of mine will stay here on an empty stomach!” I said with a slightly raised tone and Jennifer looked shocked by my statement. If I’m being honest, I was as well. In this modern world, I’ve never felt that I had to live by the traditions of our village where I spent my adolescent years. We weren’t rich by any standard but we always had enough bread and cheese to never go to bed hungry and the elders, especially my mother, always felt that if you take care of your visitors, the gods would then take care of you – which was bullshit in any case.
“I’m sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable just now. I did not mean to raise my voice like that. I hope that you can accept my apology.” I never want to make her feel uncomfortable around me. “I never thought that I can offend someone by declining food before,” she said with a shrug and then she added “and you have nothing to be sorry for. I was rude by declining your offer to cook. Thank you in any case.”
Jenna POV
After I told Adrian he had nothing to be sorry for I visibly saw him relax a bit. Honestly, I never would have thought that declining breakfast would be like a slap to someone’s face but I’m going to never try and make the same mistake again with Adrian Black. He put a cup of steaming hot coffee in front of me as well as the sugar and milk and then he proceeded to start with breakfast in total silence which was driving me nuts. “So, I’ve been wondering, what kind of work do you do?” “Currently I’m not working at all,” he replied without skipping a beat. “If you don’t mind me asking, how do you afford this place then?”
I remembered the day I saw the price tag on my apartment that made a sizeable dent in my savings but I fell in love with the place as soon as I stepped through the front door. Just then, a thought popped into my head and thanks to my filter not always working, “You’re not some kind of drug dealer or pimp are you?” Adrian immediately stopped what he was doing and turned around to face me. “I actually thought we were going to have the ‘get to know each other’ part of the conversation at dinner tonight but since you are here now and asking these questions I guess I should answer them. No Jennifer. I’m not a drug dealer, pimp, mafia boss or any other type of underworld megalomaniac that you would normally see in movies,” he said in a flat tone. “When you have lived for as long as I have, investments and rental income can keep you wealthy for a long time.” He almost sounded sad at his last statement.
I knew I had to tread carefully with my next question. “How… how old are you?” I said with a soft voice. He sighed and I didn’t think that he was going to answer my question. He turned around and went back to making our breakfast. “This year I will have my 2790th birthday,” he chuckled softly as if amused by his own private joke.
