22 They ushered Anna into an auditorium. From her position at the back of the room, she could see that almost every one of its several hundred seats were filled. She couldn’t say exactly where on the planet she was, and that troubled her. Bil had simply herded her and several other Keepers through a SlipGate to this place. It must have been a military base; everywhere she looked, she saw people in black Space Corps uniforms. Anna stood in the doorway, flanked by Rajel and Melissa and frowning at the man on the stage. “I don’t like this,” she muttered. Melissa gazed out on the crowd with her lips pursed, trying to effect an air of calm indifference. The young woman was getting better at that. “Where have they taken us?
