“Jack Hunter,” Gabi said. “Meet Sun Tesania.”
The woman who stood behind a desk in a windowless room with gray walls was nothing short of breathtaking – slightly plump with Asian features and black hair that fell in waves to her shoulders. A warm smile bloomed on her face when she saw him. “Oh, Gabrina,” she said. “So, this is the ex-boyfriend I’ve heard so much about.”
Blushing, Jack closed his eyes and nodded. “Yeah, that’s me,” he said. “Whatever she told you, I promise…it’s worse.”
Sun pursed her lips as she inspected him, and somehow, that made him feel like a piece of machinery that she intended to fix. “Yes, I think maybe it is that bad,” she said. “But maybe bad is what we need right now.”
