5 The quarters that Jack shared with Anna on the Endeavour were nothing special. Just a small sitting room where two couches faced each other on either side of a narrow aisle and a bedroom with two beds. They were designed for two junior officers to share. The ship had been at high warp for the better part of twenty-four hours, the first five of which had been spent fleeing Ragnosian territory, making a beeline for the nearest SuperGate. Captain Desarin had been afraid that they would find an enemy fleet waiting for them when they dropped out of warp, but the Gate had been unguarded.
