You, me & infertility

Year 1

Weeks had past since the first conversation, Katy had been quite reluctant about meeting up with Gary. She was nervous , the guy she was messaging was completely different from the shy guy she had known from work. She had never really spoken to him at work and now he was completely out of his shell and they were deep in conversations about having a family and what they wanted from a partner.

They spoke about their past relationships and family, they were slowly falling in love with each other.

Weeks turned into months and Katy had still not met up with Gary outside of work. Their relationship was turning into another ‘situation-ship’ and Gary didn’t want that.

Time was passing so quickly Katy and Gary were growing a little distant from each other.

One night Katy and Gary were both working , Katy in the kitchen and Gary behind the bar. Katy had finished her shift and had gone to clock out for the day. Passing Gary on the way out , he looks at her and says “I love you”. Katy was taken back and didn’t know how to react, this was the first time Gary had said this and it was completely out of the blue with how distant things had become. Katy walked out with a smile on her face thinking she would soon be made into a girlfriend.

Until 5 minutes later.

Katy and her friend from work were both waiting for their lifts home.

“Hey Katy , did I tell you that my friend is sleeping with one of the bar staff?” Katy’s friend said with a side eye

“Oh no way , who?” Katy replied

“Gary Jones” Katy’s friend looked her dead in the face when replying. As if she knew this was going to cause trouble.

Katy’s heart instantly dropped , she felt sick. In fact too sick to talk, she pulled out her phone and started typing …

How could you , did you not think I would find out ? You literally just told me that you loved me.

Seconds later there was a reply

To Katy

Stay there I’m on my way

Katy felt a burning in the back of her throat, she wasn’t sure if she was going to be sick or burst into tears.

Gary came running outside , he was apologising and denying everything.

Katy didn’t believe him , she couldn’t.

As the conversation was happening the girl Gary had been sleeping with must of had a message off Katy’s friend because the girl was sending screenshots of hers and Gary’s conversations.

Months , he had been sleeping with her for months.

The evidence was right in front of me.
