Dry Forest

_Zephyr’s POV_ After what felt like forever on that old, bumpy bus, we finally arrived at the entrance of Bloodfang Pack’s dry forest. The bus came to a loud stop, and the door squeaked open with a long, tired groan. I was one of the first to stand since I wasn't seated by the window, and as I stepped outside, the breeze hit my face. In front of us stood the forest gate, tall, with bare trees stretched up to the sky. Their branches looked thin and twisted like claws. There were no leaves or green, just dry ground and silence. It didn’t feel like a normal forest, no wonder it was called the dry forest. Elias came up beside me, letting out a low whistle. “Well, that looks… friendly.” I gave him a look. “Try not to get us lost in there.” He chuckled. “I should be saying that to you.”
